We had an amazing Chef's Experiece at Lord Stanley. The food and service were outstanding!

Walked in on a Sunday and walked right out. Was eager to dine here as I’ve ordered their to-go menu numerous times and have also enjoyed their “pop-up” window for street service. The attitude of who I'm assuming was either the host or manager was so off putting that I doubt I’ll ever get to dine there in my life. Started with his response to, “do you have room for 2 tonight?” which was a low, mumbled “sure” as he tore off 2 menus and turned his back to walk us to our table swiftly. Dropped the menus, didn’t say who would take our order, didn’t say if anyone would be back. We felt like an inconvenience before we even ordered anything. We noticed the dine-in menu was different than the to-go menu, and had questions. It was nearly impossible to get this man to spend more than half a second at our table to set expectations for the evening. I say this as someone who served in restaurants in the Bay Area for SEVEN YEARS. When I tried to get clarity on why the menus were different, he just flatly said, “ones our to go this is our dine in.” And walked off. We still had questions but no longer felt like we could get them answered. No one who worked there could be bothered with providing any service other than carrying and dropping plates at tables. It was very unclear who was a server, who was a host, and who was in the kitchen. For the prices this place charges for some attitude, I’d never return - and I didn’t even dine there.

The staff and food couldn’t have been better! We did the 10 course with the Somme pairing. The food was on par with 1 and 2 star restaurants we’ve been to and the staff was great!

Extremely nice staff but the food is not worth $600 for two people. It was very bland, needed salt and the wine parings did not make much sense. We ended up not finishing a whole lot of the courses as they just didn’t taste very good.

The restaurant itself feels cramped and a little cold feeling. That said, the staff were all very nice and on top of everything.

Overall probably won’t be back as it’s way too expensive for what you get.

cannot recommend enough!
the food was amazing, and they catered to all allergies and dietary requirements for our group of 18 people.
the service was also amazing, polite, funny, engaging and SO accommodating.
the vibe of the restaurant cost but a vibe - the menus were gorgeous and they left personalize notes for the birthday we were celebrating AND the owner made us a cake. we’ll be back for more dinners!!!

The first two courses were really nice, but unfortunately the last three (which included the main), didn’t stack up. Soup had garlic peel in it, wasn’t super flavorful. The lamb was really tough and a bit cold (probably because it was pre-cut). One of the desserts was nice (the inoffensive ice cream sundae), but the other really tasted odd and too savory to be a dessert, in my opinion. Staff was friendly and helpful, but it was pretty empty and sort of smelled weird upon entry. Won’t be returning again (unless I could just get the delicious first course!!)

This was so excellent. Best short ribs I've ever had. Staff was so knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. 10/10! We did the menu du jour with the wine pairings, everything was spot on.

The context: a birthday celebration and a turntable experience with guest chef Jason Fox. It was a fantastic and creative menu, a welcoming atmosphere, and a perfect way to celebrate. Just get there early if you are driving as parking isn't easy. And if in the highly unlikely event you are bored, perhaps between conversations or an elegantly plated dish, feast your eyes on the streets of this lively San Francisco neighborhood as you might spot a party bus of happy youngsters thoroughly enjoying their evening ;-) !

Dietary restrictions: Ask for menu changes if you have allergies or dietary restrictions and they'll happily accommodate.

I have tried basically all the types of offerings they have. I've had the 10 course tasting menu, the A la carte options, the walk-up window, and even booked my wedding dinner there. This is such a delightful restaurant. Every single bit of food I've eaten from Lord Stanley has been downright delectable, and the service matches that same caliber. In addition to great food and service at the restaurant, the booking and planning process of the wedding dinner was so delightful. They were thoughtful and patient, as well as intuitive to our needs for the event.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Dietary restrictions: They take dietary restrictions seriously and will figure out a solution.

I've always had a phenomenal experience at Lord Stanley. we've had everything from A la carte, to a ten course tasting menu, to the walk-up window, and I can tell you it's all AMAZING. We even booked our wedding dinner with them and it was such great service, from the booking all the way through to the end of the meal and cake... they always have us leaving happy and very full.

I had a great time here. The food was spot on, filling, and healthy. Someone at my table suggested that the food was better than at the French Laundry. I disagree, but it was good.

The service however was not great. We had to keep asking for service, water, food, etc. not like the place was big or packed, just not aware.

The ambience was a little lacking as well.

Lord. What a special dining experience.

The dishes were super creative (fried anchovies with gem lettuce dip! Crudo with nori and kimchi brine!), the drink menu was perfect (love a vermouth section), and it was all delicious. We ate the sole, mushroom pasta, smoked mussels with homemade sourdough, crudo.

10/10
