My wife got the tasting menu; I ordered a la carte. I'll start with the good: the pork chop that I had was quite good. A little fatty, but tender, flavorful, and generously-sized. The other items I ordered -- leeks and chicory salad -- were solid, but not noteworthy. So why the 2-star review? The tasting menu was, I hate to say it, dreadful. First, the flavors. Just not particularly good; the cold crab noodles in broth were a huge disappointment, the salmon was bland, and the asparagus was uninteresting. The beef cheek and the caviar were each pretty good, but not enough to make up for the other shortcomings. Second, the portions. For $130, you expect to leave the restaurant full or, at the very least, close to it. The portion sizes in this tasting menu were laughable. One bite here, one bite there. This might have been the meal's biggest issue, but listing second because I try to focus on taste. Finally, the wait times. At least 15 min between each small course; I'm sure this is intentional, but coupled with the portion size, is a little brutal. You end up sitting for long periods of time and building up a pretty intense appetite, without the occasional satiating reprieves to you'd expect from a coursed meal. Also, I don't normally complain about service, but after seating us it took them over 15 minutes to even swing by the table (and the place wasn't particularly crowded). Another 15 or so to bring our drinks. Will check out Turntable and hope for a better experience!

We had dinner here last night for the first time. It began with the starters. The Gilda was delicious with white anchovy and olive. Then the smoked mussels and tartare. We have had good tartare before, never with hazelnuts. This was a nice twist with a delicate crunch. Main course, the table had the pork chop, halibut and hen. All were done very well. The beer list was great! They had beers from France, Quebec and a local variety. Finished the night with some very airy and fluffy beignets. They were amazing. I need to finish will how professional and great the staff was. Top notch! Excited to visit this place again to experience another wonderful meal.

Hadn’t been to LS for some time and my wife and I dropped in last week for a neighborhood dinner and it was an outstanding dinner all around. No doubt this is one of the top restaurants in the city. A real gem with superb attention to detail and creativity.

The food was so amazing, upon finishing all the courses from the tasting menu, I ordered a fish filet sandwich to go. When reviewing a restaurant, I generally like to have a listed Pros/Cons list. Quick and easy to read. But that just won't do for this restaurant. Folks...the food was refreshing. It was interesting, creative, beautiful, flavorful, and ultimately an experience. 100% worth it. I drove down from El Dorado Hills to try this place and it was absolutely worth it. The service...absolutely amazing. They were the ones who sold me on taking a sandwich to go . Bravo

Great service by Carrie and Andy made my son's 20th bday celebration truly magnificent. The food was superb. The wagyu cote de bouef, the shrimp toast and the heirloom hen were masterpieces and must try. The desserts were mesmerizing especially the Vacheron and the Noisette.

Such a good dining experience! I came here for a friends birthday. We had a reservation for 8 and were seated at a long table upstairs. As we were waiting for everyone in our party to come, the sommelier came up and asked us which wines we were interested in trying for the night. Because we were indecisive, he gave us 3 samples to try! Dinner was also very delicious. I won't describe every dish in detail, but my favorite for the night was definitely the mashed potatoes with apple in it. SO DELICIOUS. It inspired me to try making a replica at home even though it wasn't even remotely as close to the dish at Lord Stanley. Overall the experience was great. Food was extremely good, and I'll definitely come back again someday.

My son and I went here for the Sunday supper. It was.....phenomenal (which doesn't begin to cover it). Snacks, starters, mains and dessert and we had the chance to add supplemental dishes of caviar and pasta which we chose to do. Service was fast and friendly and you could tell the servers were foodies who were proud to showcase the evenings' offerings. The courses were well paced. We are stuffed and oh so happy! Great ambiance (cozy and candlelit). We're cancelling our reservations at another restaurant so we can go back to Lord Stanley before our vacay ends.

The food was amazing. We went during Sunday Supper, and we did a four course tasting menu for $75. You can add wine pairing and total would be $115. The starter I had a tempura mushroom. The starter I forget but remember it was tasty. My main was a lamb shoulder and that was delicious! And my dessert was a caramel flan. It was a little loud because there was a private event upstairs. But it was fine. Staff was friendly, and we would come back here for their A La Carte.

I had the vegetarian prix fixe menu - which firstly, so glad they had a vegetarian option! the food itself was good but not incredible, very mushroom heavy and creamy so could just be a personal preference. But overall I feel like for the price point it wasn't as delicious as I would have expected it to be. The service was excellent though, and loved the cocktails!!

There were 4 of us for a Friday night birthday celebration. In summary, 3 chose the tasting menu option (with 2 opting for wine tasting option) and the 4th person ordered a-la-carte. We were seated upstairs and the service was impeccable. Although the tasting menu was a "gotta try this once" opportunity, we all agreed that our next visit will focus on the a-la-carte option. We were prepared for the final bill, but reality sets in when fine dining expenses need to be weighed against better financial alternatives.

This was such an unimpressive dining experience. The venue is in a cute location and the atmosphere had a lot of promise (it’s small with an intimate ambience) - except we were seated next to the kitchen hearing staff shout out the window, and the restaurant was very chilly. Another table was full of raucous businessmen who didn’t know how to use indoor voices. Our server was not very personable and kind of coarse, and almost none of the dishes were balanced. I am the type of person that can be delighted by a $15 dinner or a $150 dinner, and I would have been happier going many less fancy places, than coming here. Here’s my beef with the food:Almost none of the food was visually pleasing, at all. It wasn’t colorful, or interesting, just extremely blah (except for dessert). All of the sauces were too tart and paired badly with the dishes. To make wagyu super boring is very hard, but it was very overcooked. The sorbet dessert while beautiful had a gritty texture and tasted like a cheap Italian ice; although refreshing, it tasted like a palate cleanser, not a course, and it was not nearly as interesting or complex as my friend’s beautiful pastry. Out of more than five courses, the only things that were really excellent were: a bite of mushroom, the fish and chips course, and an after dessert bon bon.Courses were extremely slow to come out despite the restaurant being only half full, and my drink was much too sour to really enjoy. If you aren’t picky and want a slow, pretentious experience that costs a lot, give it a shot. But otherwise, SF is full of great food. Go find someplace that has soul.

Food was decent - mashed potatoes were so creamy and unique. I enjoyed the sea bass, its crispy skin, and the soup that flavored the fish. Escargot was delicious but wish it was a bit softer/tender. The short rib was tender but I wish the flavors were a bit more marinating. Service was great and was very intentional. Great restaurant for a date night.
