Bartender threw menus across the bar at my partner and I when we sat down, then lectured us about how gay drinks were actually “spirit forward, not fruity” and that me asking for a fruity, gay drink (meaning a drink that is flavored and sweet like FRUIT) was an offensive stereotype to her. I think her stereotype is actually quite offensive, implying gays prefer boozy drinks because I guess we’re inherently alcoholics?
Absolutely wild for me, a gay man, to get lectured about the privilege of referring to “gay drinks” in a city I’ve been drinking in for a decade. I usually drink at bars in the Haight and the Castro and I’ve never seen a bartender pull anything like this. We tipped $3 and left as quickly as possible because the bartender cared less about giving a good experience and more about asserting a moral stance she doesn’t seem to fully grasp. Avoid at all costs.

We hosted our team Holiday Party at Lost Resort! Brad and Radha who helped us set up the event were wonderful! They were incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and helped us put together a super memorable event. The staff working the holiday party was absolutely wonderful; they were so thoughtful, attentive, and welcoming. We had such a great time here! Absolutely loved the decor and vibe, and staff was super friendly. We went around 4pm on a Sunday, so it was pretty chill/dead (which is totally my speed as a millennial and certified Old). Our drinks (Holy Diver & The Pontoon) were perfectly crafted and delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Nautical decor matches the name :) Cozy, casual welcoming vibe, and a pretty patio space in the back! Cocktails were creative and tasty, covering all liquor not just rum given the semi-tiki theme here. Love that they have a hot drink on the menu - godsend in the winter. Friendly service & a neighborhood gem. Good for late night drinks with friends or a lowkey date night.
