I've lived in SF for 30+ years and have lived near this restaurant but never made my way to eat here. What a neighbourhood GEM....!!! The service was efficient but not rushed. The food was really tasty, flavorful, and fresh. We ordered the meatballs as a starter. The meatballs were tender and the sauce was really excellent. We also ordered the gnocchi and pappardelle. The gnocchi were light and "fluffy" and the pappardelle was definitely fresh. We can't wait...
A classic Italian spot with food you know was made in house and from the heart, especially with Luisa's grand presence in the room. I'm still thinking of that especially fresh pesto and perfectly textured gnocchi!
We had a horrible experience at Luisa's. The owner, Luisa, was there and she made a racist comment to one of our guests, and then decided it was ok to reach out and touch him. Really upsetting, and per other reviews on yelp, it's not the first time this has happened. I had to get all the food to go because my party was so upset. Food was mediocre. Not ok to touch diners!!
