We got the mushroom broth, instant noodles, handmade noodles, and an assortment of tofu and veggies.
First of all, the service was excellent. We came in closer to closing than we would have liked but were welcomed with open arms. We especially appreciated the complimentary desert.
Second of all, the sauce options were amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious, and we loved how spicy the chili oil was.
Third, all the ingredients were high quality. We especially loved the tofu skin and handmade noodles
We will be coming back! This definitely was the best hot pot we have had in San Francisco. Very grateful to have such a great option in the neighborhood.

The enoki mushroom in the display case was literally moldy. The service worker tried to tell us it was fine. The chef confirmed it was not.
(To their credit, they let us give our ingredient bowls back and leave.)

I ordered takeout of around 1lb of food. However, after I was back home and started eating, I realized half of the food I selected and paid for was missing. The missing items included pumpkin, tofu skin knots, broccoli, quail eggs, bean curd skin, baby corn. I don’t think this was intentional, but still very disappointing to a foodie who carefully selected their food. The beef soup base was okay.

Great mala pot. Many levels of spice available. Counter service, you fill your bowl with the ingredients you want and they weigh it for you and charge accordingly. I always end up taking food home and usually it lasts for several meals. Good selection of ingredients. Closes somewhat early

Just discovered this place and it’s fun and tasty! You build your own bowl of noodles and pick your soup. Had the Laksa and good selection, would have loved more but it’s so easy to overeat when you’re building your own! Will definitely be back!

Very peaceful dinning experience. Pick your fresh ingredient, then take a seat to wait for your food to be cooked and serve.

Great variety of malatang ingredients including beef tripe and quail eggs, two of my favourites! The broths are also flavourful and delicious. I come here often for a quick dinner. A great addition to Clement St.

Ordered Malatang (2 LB) feels like it was the same amount as a 1 lb. Also the packaging wasn't good thit time. The soup leaked out of the container.

Beef broth was very oily, but not so flavorful.
Vegan broth was fishy.
Root veggies didn't get cooked thoroughly.
No dry pot option.
Zhangliang in Berkeley is much better.

Love the by the pound approach, that way I get to pick what I love and avoid ingredients I don’t care for. Friendly staff! Will come again!
