SO GOOD! I’m so glad a malatang spot opened in The Richmond since I kept going to Berkeley for some. The space was incredibly clean while the service was excellent. I wish the bone broth was a bit creamier, but was nonetheless yummy.

The malatang here gave me food poisoning which was very unfortunate because reviews looked good and I was excited to dine here. The ingredients looked fresh and tasted fine. Price per pound is a little more than other malatang places but consistent with Bay Area costs.
I think what happened was I came during a busy dinner rush where all tables were occupied and there was only one person ringing up orders, refilling ingredients, and serving food. Not sure if he was cooking everything too. My guess is my meal was not cooked properly to accommodate wait time for all customers. I am careful about posting 1 star reviews for small businesses, but I threw up all the malatang and it was a painful, sleepless night.

This is a nice addition to Clemente Street for spicy hot pot of various varieties. Malatang the numbing Chinese flavor was our draw in to the store, but they have many other versions of soups such as laksa and tom yum. The beef broth was a little weak, but the numbing flavor was quite strong. You pick all of your ingredients and we enjoyed all except we found we didn't like the yam noodles. The staff was really nice and helpful and the interior was modern yet with a little bit of classic Chinese art. Really looking forward to trying this place again and trying the other flavors and ingredients. We are omnivores but we would like to come back and try it with totally vegan soup and ingredients option.

I love malatang and this one is authentic and delicious. I chose the bone beef broth which is rich and creamy and medium spices for some mala (numbing) flavor. I also got the shaved noodles. It was perfect! Will definitely come back!

The pork bone broth needs more flavor, tastes watery on its own. The creme brulee was sold out when i visited. . Its a new place that just opened, im sure they will improve. Would like this place to have bean curd skin, steam rice and tasty broth with just rice.

The food here was delicious and the store itself feels refined and clean. You choose what raw ingredients you want for your soup, the. The staff cook it for you. The service was really fast and everything in my soup was cooked perfectly. The panna cotta desserts were also really good. Will definitely be back here!

Wow!! I'm so happy this place opened so close to my home! A flavorful spicy comforting broth awaits you here! There are all sorts of spice levels - including basic. So it's for everyone! I absolutely adored the classic beef and I got the highest spicy and it hit the spot! Loved the beef tendon, fried tofu rolls- those were my favorite add ons! Must try this! Family owned and they are so friendly and amazing!

Delicious all around. Everything is fresh and flavorful and my favorite thing about M Pot is the ambiance and service. I also love the green dipping sauce and the ability to add cilantro and green onions to my noodle soup! Highly recommend the beef tendon, fish filet, beef broth, beef, and lamb.
