We chose The Magic Flute for our wedding reception because we wanted something intimate, charming, and uniquely San Francisco — and it was absolutely perfect. From the start, the team was so easy to work with, accommodating every detail with kindness and professionalism.

The evening itself was magical. The food and wine were incredible — our guests couldn’t stop raving about both — and the service was friendly, attentive, and fast. The restaurant’s warm lighting and beautiful ambiance made every photo glow, adding to the cozy, elegant feel we hoped for.

We wanted our guests to experience the heart of San Francisco in an intimate setting, and The Magic Flute gave us exactly that. Our night was truly special, and we’re so grateful to the entire team for making it unforgettable.

Charming neighborhood restaurant. The food is great and the vibes are right. Had Arancini to start and they were fantastic. Had the clam pasta as my main and it was wonderful. Just the right amount of vongole and really flavorful. Also, great wine selection. We even found a new Etna Bianco that we really loved.

Fantastic spot - amazing food with great outdoor garden space at the back with heaters in case it gets cold. I’ve been here twice and plan to come back when I’m next in San Francisco

Food was incredible, beautiful presentation, explosive and balanced flavors.

Great atmosphere! We ate a little earlier dinner in the back patio and had the place to ourselves.

Cute place, decent food, good service. Cute courtyard on a nice day. Overpriced by about 20%. Pie ala mode was $23. Pasta vongole $27 overcooked and watery but good clams. Fried calamari was frozen and thin. Sauce without taste. Also super quiet for a Wednesday night - just us and another couple. Not bad overall but probably won’t come back unless for wine on the patio.

I really love the old San Francisco atmosphere here and the service is good but I have to say that the quality of the food has gone downhill. This place taught me to love salmon but the salmon on spinach that I had the other day was so salty my mouth was actually burning. It was also incredibly expensive for a meal that was a bust to put it lightly.

Delicious chilaquiles, great patio, friendly service at brunch. Just wish they served real maple syrup for the French toast (the menu says they do on the menu, but the waiter confirmed it’s not.)

The restaurant is incredibly charming but the food is horrible. My crab Louie was disgusting, and I normally like everything! It was basically romaine lettuce and mayo. I have no idea how it remains on a menu. Everyone’s meals arrived cold, which isn’t ideal since most people ordered eggs.

I love this place! I never miss a chance to have a meal here when I'm in San Francisco. From the food to the service, it is always perfection.

One of my favorite places disappoints tonight. Dec 19 res at 8p..pretty empty but realized they were really eager not to have more diners. Finally we asked if we could order a drink. During dinner recycle cans were dragged thru resturant to outside..nice. clam chowder delish. Chopped salad lettuce a bit tired. Order wine came in huge glass with 2 table spoons od wine. Asked if we wanted dessert since kitchen wanted to close.
Not a great experience after so many nic experiences at Magic Flute.
