This was the best Bahn Mi spot on Clement, I hope they come back soon. The roast beef and the bbq pork are amazing and the ice coffee is on point.

Best Vietnamese sandwiches in the Richmond. Drinks are also excellent.

Best Vietnamese sandwiches in town!!! So wish they were open during this pandemic. Sandwiches are always perfectly crisp and warm. Their housemade avocado spread is amazing, filling options are endless, and prices are beyond reasonable!

Delicious and meaty bahn mi for deal of a price. The amount of meat was comparable to cafe bahn mi and it was $3 cheaper! The BBQ pork sandwich was packed with meat -- delicious pork! Well balanced sandwich! Definitely worth trying; you might be surprised!!

This is our go-to Banh Mi place. My hub's family lives in Golden Gate park and so when we're in that area, we try to get our Vietnamese sandwich fix. The bread is always fresh and the couple who owns the place are so sweet. Oh and the prices are so affordable for SF. We love supporting small, local businesses in our community.

Best BBQ Chicken vietnamese sandwiches I have tried. Bread is perfectly toasted, chicken is full of flavor. Daikon and jalapeno ad extra crunch and kick.

I was walking in the Richmond district with a friend and after we went to Goodwill and had been walking around, were hungry. We stumbled upon Mai Mai around lunchtime and there was a short line which was very noticeable because this place is TINY. There's not much seating but that's okay, there's some benches nearby outside. I got the BBQ Chicken Sandwiches banh mi and Thai tea and the Banh Mi was amazing. The bread was toasted just the right amount and the chicken was flavorful and warm. Together, it was great and honestly the prices were a steal! I need to come to the Richmond more often just for Mai Mai banh mis.

This place is an absolute dream. The sandwiches are delicious and crispy, as are the coffees. The iced coffee will blow you away.

Good vegetarian banh mi. Many interesting drink and sandwich options Reasonable pricing and wait as well. Seating is limited, but it's nice near the window. Also one of the few places on the block that accepts credit cards.

Was around this area so gave this place a try. they accept credit card so that's a plus. A guy took my order, didn't greet me.... hmm. Ordered #1 and expected it to taste better. From what I see on yelp's pics, the portion I got was smaller... (look at half of my sandwhich)... Overall, wouldn't come back.

Solid 3.5 stars, rounded up since it's a cute small mom/pop type feel. They do prep everything to order so it can be a longer wait than expected especially if you order a good amount. Tried a few banh mi's: regular combo #1, cha lua (steamed pork), and a Mai Mai Special It was great fresh, bread is perfectly crunchy and toasted and not too fluffy. Great how they include pate and not just mayo. I think it could use more fresh veggies and it'd be a 5 star. Average price for them $5-6.50. I tried the special since it sounded unique but I don't usually go for fattier meats. Salad w/ Shrimp: small portion but it was still delish one day later. They do package it nicely with the sauces on the side Cafe Sua Sa (Viet Coffee): 5/5 bomb, asked for it to be less sweet (less condensed milk) and they actually listened. The flavor was perfect. Great pick me up! They do accept card which is nice since most other places around the area are cash only! I would come back for a banh mi and Viet coffee fix in the future. If they improve on the veggie ratio in the banh mi's they'd be perfect!

I have been craving a good bahn mi sandwich but the places I've tried on Clement were either not worth the wait (1 hour for one sandwich? Really!!) or just didn't have much taste even though all the parts were there. I like the ones with Vietnamese ham, headcheese, regular ham and a good pate that you can taste, along with all the vegs. Someone recommended this place to me so when I finally had the time, I rode over there and got the combo pork with bbq pork and the Mai Mai combo which had the cuts of meat I wanted. I also bought shrimp rolls. Now, here's the odd part. Everywhere else I've had Vietnamese rolls of any sort, they've always come with some dipping sauce that is primarily fish sauce (yum). Not here. Here they give you sriracha sauce. Weird. I skipped the sauce. The rolls were still good, I like them because they have mint leaves in there, nice and refreshing. I'm not sure what happened then. I ate all the shrimp rolls myself, didn't share with my friend (I made the trip and spent my money) although I did offer. We did share our bahn mi, half and half. I ate mine and got a weird headache like I used to with MSG, stomach was also not sure it liked what I'd just eaten and I was out of commission for the next 24 hours. Not sick, just didn't feel right. Neither of the halfs I ate tasted like much, and I still miss the bahn mi I used to get at Les Croissants at the corner of California and Drumm, but that's just too far to go for me. I'll have to keep searching.

The shrimp rolls themselves were fantastic, especially the mint leaves; unfortunately, the peanut sauce was watery. (I used the chili instead.) The Viet iced coffee was less sweet than normal, and I liked it. The veggie banh mi was great.

The vegetarian sandwich is delicious! Reasons why: 1. The bread is light and crispy and freshly baked (as it should be) 2. The tofu is light and not oily tasting with a mild curry flavor to it -- very nice touch! 3. The sandwich includes a light avocado spread and optional jalapeí±o. At $5.50 it's reasonably priced too. Will be back again.
