Waiter quite pushy on certain meal to be taken and basically almost not letting choose. Very slow to get the meals and then pressured to finish and take our plate. Food is good but clearly overpriced.

The food was delicious but the service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress was incredibly rude and demeaning. We then were asked to clear our table for the next guests after being there less than 90 minutes as a party of 5, ordering multiple courses and drinks etc. It was very disappointing. We used to recommend this place and were loyal repeat customers but after how terrible this experience was I'm not sure we'll be back.

Terrible service. The waitress who served us was slow to help us, sassy, condescending, and forgot about our order. The food was great, but we were really disappointed with the service, because we were genuinely excited to try Mamonoko. We genuinely tried to push through the poor service because the appetizers were great, but once we had been waiting for 20+ minutes without any service after having put our main order in, the waitress came over and had no recollection of us putting our order in. We ended up asking for the check at that point.

Our return to Mamanoko did not disappoint! The food is creative, delicious and consistent from visit to visit. And the staff is exceptional: Ulysses and Matt standouts, as usual. We were warmly greeted even though it had been nearly a year since our last visit.

This place is overhyped, overpriced, and overrated. Service is a 2/10 and sitting outdoors is an awful dining experience if you get stuck there, but sushi is half decent.

Food’s really bad and almost stale. If you want good Japanese food in SF look elsewhere

Sumo hour is an especially great deal ~ the portions are full sized and nicely discounted. ALWAYS get the vegetable fritters! Quality food and service. Highly recommended.

This was one of my favorite dining experiences in quite some time. Janelle helped us by describing the top items on the menu and we absolutely LOVED everything we ordered, from cocktails to appetizers and entrees. It was all coursed out well and the service was excellent. The total check for 4 of us was less than we expected. We'll definitely return!

I had dinner at Mamanoko this past Sunday at 5 PM. All of the other patrons chose to eat outside, thus I was alone inside and had the place to myself. A bonus and easy social distancing. My first course was a spectacular salad of heirloom tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, some cheese atop everything else and was lightly dressed. Next up was another big winner of prawn tempura that was coated in a light seaweed batter. Unfortunately, almost at once a plate of miso glazed cod appeared. While this was an OK plate of food, my server should have paced my meal better. A single dinner should not have to rush to finish two main courses at once fearing that one, the other, or both will cool. The cod was atop some crisped mushrooms and kale which added a textural difference to the flakey cod. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and my server told me that later in the evening it was likely to become loud and raucous, if that is your thing.

Overall, the place was good. I felt like the sushi could’ve been a little bit better but our server Kevin made the experience so good. I enjoyed the place and overall I had enjoyed my time.

We came for a birthday, and felt like we were treated like Royalty. Our server, Miranda, was amazing and so helpful. The full staff were on their toes, removing dirty plates as soon as we were finished eating, providing more water, really ... on call. The food was amazing!! This is our 2nd visit and we will be coming back soon!

Came here on a Wednesday - still very crowded and lively atmosphere. We got the toro cakes, umami sliders, puchi puchi roll and seaweed salad and I recommend all of them 100%. I hate to say this because I had such a nice time otherwise, but the service wasn’t as friendly as I would’ve expected.
