Birria burrito was tasty. Meat was flavorful and melt in your mouth. Was surprised that they used plain rice rather than Spanish rice. Tortilla was so deliciously flaky, I wondered if it was lavash.Decore is your typical no frills tacqueria with brightly colored throw pillows, paintings of natives doing everyday things, but a nice touch is the counter set up to look like the Golden Gate Bridge.Very few options for agua frescas so we got Mexican Mocha, which was good.Neighborhood locals like to go here and everyone is really friendly.

Fish tacos were really good (not fried, fresh fish). Papusas hit the spot. Def would recommend! Churros were tasty, maybe a tad bit more crunchy than I like (I like some gooey-ness to it).

I recently started working in the area and was eager to try out Manitas Cafe. Excited to try the food, I placed a to-go order and opted for a burrito. However, upon eagerly unwrapping my meal, I was dismayed to find that there was no salsa included in the bag.Thinking it might have been an oversight, I waited in line again, hoping to rectify the situation. To my surprise, the staff informed me that they didn't have any salsa available, even for purchase. This was particularly frustrating, as I had noticed on their Yelp page numerous photos showcasing dishes accompanied by--you guessed it--fresh salsa.Feeling perplexed, I couldn't help but wonder: how could a Salvadoran restaurant not have salsa available? It seemed like an essential component of many of their dishes. The staff member directed me to a table where I could find Tapatio, but it just wasn't the same. The whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth. As much as I wanted to enjoy Manitas Cafe, this incident rubbed me the wrong way. It's disappointing when a restaurant fails to meet even the most basic expectations. Also the burrito was basic, and not worth the almost $20 I paid for it.Despite potentially delicious offerings, I'm hesitant to return given this experience. And as much as I'd like to recommend it to others, I can't overlook the fact that something as simple as salsa was missing. Hopefully, they'll address this issue in the future, but until then, I'll be exploring other dining options in the area.

Great little spot with genuinely great food. The service was spot on and you just know there is a lot of care and pride that goes into every dish. We had the beef birria plate and the calabazas a la Mexicana plate and they were both delicious.

We are visiting San Francisco and have stopped by the restaurant twice now since it’s across from where we’re staying and love it. They even gave us free churros the second time we visited. The owners are so kind. The mole was also incredible and the portions are generous.Wheelchair accessibility: I was able to sit comfortably at one of the tables in my manual wheelchair and it was easy to get in the front door.

The Mole is unique and amazing, Must Try! Tortas are great. Food is cooked to order and has always been warm and fresh! Service is great, the two people who run this place are amazing. Many people seem to go regularly which is always a great sign.Wheelchair accessibility: My wife has a wheelchair and was able to roll it in and find a seat. It was not super busy when we went, so that did help.

Piling onto the positive reviews! Manita's coffee is great, service is always great. I've enjoyed both the Mole and regular "Hella Spicy" Chilaquiles (which I didn't find too spicy, but just right the right balance of zip and flavor!) and they're the best I've had in years! Friends have all enjoyed their food as well.

Great food and a really nice restaurant space. The coffee drinks are amazing too! We had a Mexican mocha and lavender latte. Both were excellent. Hella spicy chilaquiles are super flavorful and not actually too spicy. Would definitely come back!

Cute atmosphere and great service! The pupusas I got were ok but it lacked filling. I would go back to try other dishes.

So glad I found this spot ❤️. My friend and I were there on a Sunday around 10am. Although the place is small there were plenty of spots to sit down and the service was quick. Parking was also easy to find in the same block. For breakfast We had the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. They were both pretty good. Drip coffee is ok, the latte was better. I will definitely come back to try the pozole, arepas and pupusas. This place is dog friendly ?
