Marcella's Lasagneria Reviews
The best pasta and sauces in San Francisco. Authentic Italian cuisine! Highly recommend. Father and son team are amazingly warm hosts!
Gianfranco and the team at Marcella’s always deliver a beautiful, flavorful, authentic Italian meal. I love the kick of the penne puttanesca, the fresh salad and bread always delight, and the rotating daily special is always a treat. Yesterday, I tried the fresh spaghetti with a wonderful tomato and basil sauce topped with goat cheese. It was the perfect mix of fresh, smooth, and creamy. An Aperol spritz on a warm Saturday afternoon was the perfect way to pretend to be on vacation....read full review

Marcella's Lasagneria offers a delightful dining experience with perfect lasagna that leaves customers feeling blissful. The abruzzo is a must-try, described as delicious with yummy sausages. The Caprese salad is light and delicious. The ravioli tartufo is bomb. The meat sampler lasagna stands out among the average, with a flavorful meat sauce and a delightful tomato taste. Customers enjoy trying all 6 lasagnas, finding them fun and yummy. The mushroom ravioli is well made, with a creamy mushroom sauce that many find delicious. The finale, tiramisu, is excellent. The people working here are nice and friendly, with servers being extremely attentive even when busy. The restaurant features outdoor seating, including a covered parklet that helps with the wind, making it a nice spot for lunch. It often gets packed, especially on weekends, so arriving early is advised. Portions can be a bit pricey, and some wish they were bigger, but the quality makes it worth it. The place is popular for its flavorful lasagna and great pasta, with special dishes like the truffle rigatoni standing out. Service is speedy and polite, and staff keep up with the crowd despite limited inside seating. Overall, it’s a charming spot to enjoy Italian food and lasagna in a cozy setting.
