Great food and service ! Wish the lomo salteado had more meat! It was all fries ! Will definitely come back
Manager was a bit rude, insisting that we only had 2 hrs as we were being seated...all the time not even looking at us. A 6% booking fee for the private room, but they put 4 other people in at another table. Dessert didn't even have enough for 1 per person! Staff was rushed. Not one person smiled or spoke pleasantly to us. Food quantity was sparse for $65/person plus all the surcharges, taxes and gratuity.
The restaurant has great well-lit ambience. The service was friendly and timely. The food was delicious, but my chicken and noodle dish was very light on chicken. The Chicha (?) sour was a delicious twist on a pisco sour.
Food was good but resto doesn't have a proper heating system. They need to invest on a good climate control and what's up with the plastic carpeting? Not only is it a fire hazard, it is too tacky.
I was genuinely looking forward to trying this place during our trip. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. The server was rude, set the water glasses on the table as if throwing them, and spoke with an attitude. I asked a simple question about a drink on the menu that only listed “maracuyá,” just to understand how it was prepared, and he reacted as if the question was bothersome. At that point, I realized the experience would likely be unpleasant, so we chose to leave.
We were seated as requested in the window seats. The service was excellent - we were given a crash course in Peruvian food. We had the ceviche which was flavorful and I love the crispy calamari on top. The Lomo Saltado, served on fries, was so tender and the sauce was delicious for dipping the fries. And of course, the very dangerous Pisco Sour! Must try!
Popped in here to get out of the rain. Thank god, this place is perfect! I ordered the Mostrito, the chicken was perfect, the fries were perfect, and the chaufa rice was perfect. 🙏🙏🙏
The tres leches is magical. 😭

Been here on a few occasions. The food was amazing. PLANTAINS were phenomenal! Restrooms clean.
Service was slightly off from the norm. A couple walked in 40 mins before closing and were turned away. Personality was absent. We felt that we were hindrance turning up. Something is amiss.
The food was fantastic.

Fun spot on the street level of the 5th & Mission Garage. Good Peruvian fare and drinks and decent-sized portions. Cute atmosphere with neon butterflies (maisposa) on the walls and ceilings and astroturf on the floor gives the feeling of being in an outdoor garden.
Restaurantji Recommends
Took 2 visiting teammates here for dinner on a busy Thursday evening when another private party took up 70% of the restaurant. (I made the reservation a week ahead.) The food was amazing: We got cocktails, ceviche (with calamari and shrimp), rotisserie chicken rice, beef empanadas and vegetables anticuchos (skewers). Portions were generous too. Would come back!
We had a business lunch there and the food, service and attention to detail was out of this world. Everyone raved about the food. Mariposas is a gem!
Great restaurant, great staff. Traditional Ceviche, Beef Empanada, and margaritas were incredible. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
