Mariposa is a whimsically decorated and welcoming restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Mariposa is close to Yerba Buena so it's a short walk to a performance or film.

Great food and service. Our experience was marred by VERY HIGH noise level! The decore is interesting (muchas mariposas) but the place needs acoustic tiles or ??? to dampen the noise.

The food was delicious. The decor is fun and rather unique. However, the service made the experience only so-so. We had lunch (2 people) and the restaurant was not crowded. The servers were just not attentive and left us waiting on basic things like appetizer plates. I think our lunch sat a bit before coming out because my dish was not as hot as I would have expected. Overall, I think I would go back at least once to see if I caught the team on an odd day, or if this really is...
