This isn't just a restaurant, it's a cultural hub. My mom is central American, and our culture is somewhat different than Mexican culture. This place opens at 4:30a.m., that means they're serving full meals at that time. Its where working men go to get their coffees, sweetbread, and any kind of breakfast they need to get through their day. Its home style home cooked comida Centro Americana...as authentic as it gets.
Our people WORK! its what we do... From the day we arrive in this country, we help each other as much as we can. Marthitas is that place where working men and women congregate for their morning cafesitos con pan dulcé...and long may it continue to be so. If you want the real deal, this is the place. There is no shi shi anything here, there's long tables and everyone sits together. This is a woman run establishment, because without our women, we are nothing.
Try the chicharones con huevitos y frijoles con crema...get a side of platanitos... It comes with fresh handmade tortillas. Have a coffee and a piece of sweet bread....this food is made with love. And is literally as close to what my grandma used to feed me, when I would come knocking on her door, my mom was at work, and I got hungry, all those years ago...
Marthitas, is basically a place where a Mama got up early to cook so she could feed the men, and her sons, before they went to work for the day, that turned into a restaurant...because more and more men came for that taste of home, and to be with their people...
If you want authentic, show up here before the sun rises, have some breakfast with the real workers of America...
Viva California!! Y Viva nuestra Raza!!

Delicious mexican dishes that all taste like they’re cooked from scratch. We both got the huevos rancheros, which was a more basic style than is served at most restaurants, but was still some of the best we’ve had. Phenomenal homemade salsas, and really great fresh coffee. This restaurant also had very friendly staff, a cute outdoor patio area, and very good value.

Vegetarian options: Plenty of good vegetarian options.

Parking: Free street parking directly in front of the restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid and family friendly.

Wheelchair accessibility: Good wheelchair accessibility and accommodating staff.

Unpretentious authenticity, a Mexican breakfast-lunch with Guatemalan twist. In addition to taqueria standards, Central American style fried chicken and grab-and-go crispy specials available: empanadas, flautas. A brothy soup of the day also available upon request.Indoor and outdoor seating.
