Maruwu Seicha - SF Japantown

Maruwu is a lovely addition to the mall, always has a long line (two, actually) whenever I visit. Love their Hokkaido milk soft serve a friend recommended--it's incredibly creamy and milky in flavor. 🍦

Always a good experience, everything is very good especially their TaroMatcha drink, one of my favorites. Rated 4 stars though I'm pretty bummed out we drove 20 minutes because I really didn't want to leave the city without getting one of my favorite drinks. Got their 20 minutes before closing just to be told that they stopped making drinks 30 minutes before they close. Let them know that's pretty messed up especially since it's not stated anywhere and drove all the way there for nothing. Was only told to come by 1 hr before closing lol wanted it so bad I could taste it 😭 if you know you know.

My go to for good matcha in SF. Always consistent and fresh! The cheese tart is delicious 😋

Very popular spot for matcha, for good reason. My friend said it was the best matcha he's had outside of Japan, and I thought the matcha soft serve was great as well

This is the best matcha I have ever had!! We got the matcha latte with 25% sweetness and hochia cold foam. It was the perfect order! We also tried the matcha affogato, which was also yummy. The icecream isn’t anything special, the concentrated matcha is the highlight

This location in the West Mall and always has a line but its usually worth the queue.

I have only had their ice cream but most flavors I’ve tried are delicious. Their ice cream is enough to feed two easily. I usually am able to split it by asking for an extra cup or cone.

There are two lines, one to order with an attendant and one to order by machine. From what I have observed, typically the attendant is faster.

Ordered a drink yesterday, waited forever (like 30+ mins) while people after me already got theirs. The girl with the “ryan^ - ^” tag on her apron was super rude, I showed her my order and asked about my drink, she didn’t even look at me and just walked away. Ended up waiting another 20 mins and still nothing. Honestly ridiculous attitude and terrible service.

Good cheese tart

This place was so good! Came to visit when I came to SF, and I enjoyed everything we got. Very tasty matcha flavored custard and drinks. The line seemed pretty long, but it went by very quickly. This is a quick space and just a place to get a sweet treat and go. But the staff and service was very clean & fast!

I’ve passed by this store so many times but only stopped in because my usual matcha spot is closed on Sundays. I’m so glad I did because the drinks are absolutely delicious. The Matcha Snow Top is so strong matcha flavour, smooth and creamy, and the Hojicha Black Sesame is incredible. I’ve been searching for a good Hojicha Black Sesame ever since Izumi stopped serving it at their Cupertino location, and this version is even better. I also add the Snow Top on the Hojicha Black Sesame. So happy I found this place!
