all was good... would stay again when in San Francisco... People very nice. Was near everything where I had to go.. Nice restaurants near by. also nice shops. Union Square shopping very close. could walk to everything. thank you..
Checked in early Sunday morning. The front desk lady told me check in was at 3pm but went out of her way to check me in at 12pm instead. Kenny the GM even gave me my own dorm by myself for a week, so I was getting my own private room for the price of a dorm. I had one instance where I had undesirable roommate my second week of staying there but the night staff quickly changed my room and fixed the situations. The rooms are clean, bathrooms are nice, there’s a sink in the room and the beds and pillows are comfy. The only thing I could complain about is the extra fees that no one could really explain but they were minimal so it was not a huge deal. The location is kind of rough being in the heart of downtown but a quick 5 minute walk down the street and you’re in the financial district and mall areas so it’s fine. I spent most of my trip walking downtown and near the pier. I would stay again if I am back in San Francisco anytime soon. Thanks!
Decent rooms with no amenities and all the guest here complain about how they raise your booked rate by $18 a night after you've booked through suggested applications. My price was 27.60 per night including taxes but was charged $43 per night when I checked in! They told me the sites didn't take into consideration their $18 a night hidden fees and taxes. Everyone that checks in is shocked and this coming from a seasoned user of all booking applications. In this neighborhood you have to constantly step over junkies, needles and feces it being in the Tenderloin so NEVER LEAVE THE HOTEL FOR ANY REASON!!!!
Near the union square in the middle of San Francisco, near to metro. Loved it and enjoyed the place. Recently and completely renewed and reopened. For me the best choice in San Francisco for a budget. High quality material, modern and clean. Love the carpet everywhere in the hotel: reception and corridors. Friendly and smiley staff thanks for the hospitality. A kitchen for cooking and eating, high speed internet service, a printer and space for your business. A laundry space for your clothes. I regret there is no breakfast, I think it’s due to space small kitchen.
I stayed at the found hotel for on night. I checked into the hotel and when i checked in they did not have the proper change at ths front desk. Following the check in i went to my room and the bed was dirty. Housekeeping has not cleaned the bunk. So i went downstairs and they issued me another room. This room on the top bunk it looked like had not been cleaned and trash wrappers were left behind. Also the body soap in the shower was empty. The bunk beds were alright sleeping on. And the lobby and entrance is cute.
This hotel/hostel is in the Tenderloin district, one of the grimiest areas of San Francisco, which I didn’t know until I was there. (That’s on me for not doing enough research.) With that said, this hotel purports that it’s a place for the adventurous and budget-conscious. I’ve stayed in hostels around the world; I happened to pay for the hotel experience at FOUND. I was disappointed and dissatisfied, but maybe I got what I paid for... Here are some things of note: - This was not a walk-friendly neighborhood. Maybe it’s because Covid has tipped the ratio of homeless:not homeless population in the area, but I felt unsafe walking around. - We were not once greeted by the desk attendant. Every conversation had to be initiated by us. I believe in appropriately friendly customer service, and no one was friendly here. - There was a lack of enforcement of covid protocol. The desk attendants rarely wore masks, even as the lobby frequently had multiple people in it. - There was clothing left from the previous guest in our closet. Was the room truly cleaned? I don’t know. - There was covid elevator protocol signs up, but guests did not abide by protocol. I would not recommend this “hotel” to anyone, even though it was supposedly in an amazing area and the cost was affordable. It’s not enough to have a mid-century modern “clean” aesthetic if everything else is dirty.
I was going to be in SFO for 13-14 hours on July 18 before catching a flight out and needed a place to stay, so I booked the nights of July 17 and 18 at Found Hotel so that I could check-in without any problems early morning of July 18. I even indicated on my booking form that I would be checking in between 6 and 7 AM on July 18. When I got to the hotel, I was informed that I was charged a no-show fee because I didn’t turn up. Which was weird because I was right there. Although the fee was small, I complained about the principle of the charge, and then the guy at the Front Office said matter-of-factly that I could just leave and that he could refuse me service. At 6 AM, I didn’t want to get turned out of the hotel so I backed down. When he asked me what time I would be checking out and I told him that I would be leaving at 8 PM of the same day, he said that I would then have to book another night. I told him I was booked for two nights. He said I was only charged for one, so he presented me with a new bill which ended up being $15 more than my original booking. While the amount isn’t much, I think the hotel’s treatment of me was rather shabby, especially when I clearly stated when I would be checking in, and I did book for the appropriate amount of nights. Apart from that, the hostel beds, bathroom, toiletries are good. However, the room, the shared kitchen and common places are small. The area is right smack where the homeless people are too. I was told that there were no homeless people staying at the hotel, but when I peered into the kitchen, there seemed to be one in there.
The food is soooooo good! We are staying upstairs and have eaten here each night for convenience and have been blown away by the service and the quality of the food. Highly highly recommended!
Solid service with nice people. Good prices on drinks.
Very good burgers and friendly staff!
