Visiting from NYC with a coworker, I decided to check out Matador because my coworkers suggested I go. The staff was friendly, my classic margarita was perfect, the food was good, and the happy hour prices were on point. We had the ground beef tacos, grilled chicken tacos, and the carnitas tacos (our fav of the three). I wanted the el pastor taco but, sadly, it wasn't on the happy hour menu. My waiter was so dope. He brought one to the table as we were winding down...
The food was good but the service was horrible. We had to flag down the waitress whenever we needed her, and she wasn't busy. Mostly, she was just talking to the hostess.
The drinks were weak. I ordered a pitcher of margaritas, and it came out in a small carafe of mostly ice. It was maybe 2 and a half servings at best.

the tacos were really small! So at least order the 3 if you're hungry. The description also fit in my opinion. not what was on my plate. The burrito, on the other hand, was very good, a reasonable size and corresponded to the description on the menu. overall rather expensive ($80 for 2 p.) - but that could also be because I haven't yet adjusted my price feeling for San Francisco.
