Me and my best friend came for crawloween and it was a 10/10 experience, the drinks were cheap and good and the music/club vibes were everythinggg.

Matt/Matthew, the owner, will come across kind and friendly, but ladies REALLY need to watch their drinks here. Unfortunately, many friends I’ve spoken with share similar experiences of having one drink made here and, abnormally, blacking out for hours, and becoming disoriented and sick. This place should be shut down. It’s grimy and disgusting. Avoid at absolutely all costs.

Only thing funny about the comedy show was the taste of the tap beer.

Paid for a ticket online and host further asked for donations.

Stay away from this place. We booked tickets for ‘Laugh GPT: SF’s First AI-Powered Stand-up Comedy Show’, expecting something unique and innovative as advertised. Instead, we walked into an almost empty bar with a handful of local comedians delivering unfunny, low-effort sets. There was nothing AI-powered about the show…just some guys and the same tired jokes. It felt misleading. Definitely not worth the time or money.

A bit hit or miss. I think they just get a bit busy for their own good sometimes, but usually fun

Unsurprisingly theft is a popular topic here. I left the bartender a solid cash tip and either he or the manager decided to pad some extra tip money for themselves onto my credit card tab. Called multiple times, no response. Figures, the thief thiefs

Mayes Oyster House in San Francisco is a historic gem that delivers an enjoyable dining experience with a lively atmosphere. Known for its seafood and raw bar, this spot is perfect for oyster lovers and anyone looking for a great night out.

Food: The oysters are the star of the menu, and they do not disappoint. Fresh, flavorful, and served with a variety of sauces, they’re a must-try. The rest of the menu offers a good selection of seafood dishes, including crab cakes, clam chowder, and grilled fish, all of which are well-prepared and satisfying. For non-seafood lovers, there are options like burgers and salads that are equally enjoyable.

Drinks: Mayes boasts an excellent bar menu with creative cocktails, a solid beer selection, and a good range of wines that pair perfectly with the seafood. Their happy hour specials are particularly popular and a great way to enjoy quality oysters and drinks without breaking the bank.

Atmosphere: The vibe is casual yet vibrant, with a mix of locals and visitors. The interior combines a historic charm with modern touches, and the lively energy makes it a great spot for groups or a fun date night. On some nights, they even feature live music or DJs, adding to the overall experience.

Service: The staff are friendly and attentive, even during busy hours. They’re happy to offer recommendations, whether it’s the best oyster pairings or their personal favorite dishes.

Downsides: It can get quite crowded during peak hours, so reservations are recommended, especially for larger parties. The noise level might also be a bit high for those looking for a quieter dining experience.

Overall, Mayes Oyster House is a fantastic spot for fresh seafood, a buzzing atmosphere, and a taste of San Francisco’s history. Whether you’re an oyster aficionado or just looking for a great night out, this is a place worth visiting.

Attended the NYE comedy show. It was advertised that some bigger name comedians would perform, but it was all very local, very amateur folks. It was also advertised that there would be seating, but they didn’t set up enough chairs. More than half the attendees ended up standing by the bar where it was difficult to hear.

Decided to check out this comedy show and it was AWFUL. Please save your money and time, do not come to this venue/event. The space is very run down and the host (I believe his name is Damien) was rude and had no idea what he was doing, seems like they just let anyone do the job now.
