My go-to whenever I’m in SF. McTeague’s has excellent atmosphere, all the best beers, and the best music in any bar, anywhere. The bartenders have always been straight shooters too. You can’t beat McTeague’s!

Unacceptable service. One person in our group wasn't drinking so ordered a water from the bartender, the bartender said no and walked away (not e.g. redirecting to a water pitcher or cooler, if there was one out). First time I've ever seen that happen, and I thought it was illegal not to serve water. This was a Saturday afternoon a few weeks ago and it wasn't super packed, and the rest of our group was drinking so I really don't know what the problem wasIt's a shame because I otherwise like the bar

Had one fun night here. Start out early here, I remember this place is always packed, but for good reason. There's also 2 different serving/dancing areas that help with traffic. There's too many people that hang out next to the bar. The music was good and the drinks were fair and strong.
