This bartender was in a super bad mood and threw out my drinks without prompting. He made them, talked to another patron then threw my drinks out. I think he was frustrated and took it out on my order. Did not follow up with me or let me reorder. Really unprofessional experience at McTeagues.

Oct 22, I went in and had 2 Guinness for about 17$ I tipped 7$ on top. Then I check the card I paid the total with and found they had charged me twice but adding a 80$ charge. I used to like coming here but probably never again now.

McTeague’s Saloon – San Francisco’s Hidden Gem with Heart
Being new to San Francisco, McTeague’s was one of the first bars I stumbled into — and I’ve been thankful ever since. It’s not just a bar, it’s the kind of place where strangers become your drinking buddies, and regulars feel like family. Some of my closest friends today? Met ’em right here over a Guinness and a few games of pool.
The bartenders are solid — friendly, quick, and always on their game even when it’s packed. There’s a strong “locals-built-this” vibe, and you can tell the regulars have shaped the character of the place just as much as the brick and mortar.
No food served, but that’s actually a plus — you’re welcome to bring your own in. And with pizza, Chinese, burgers, and Thai food all within a couple blocks, you’re basically set for whatever craving you’ve got mid-session.
Tons of TVs make it a great spot for catching a game, and they go all out for UFC nights. If you’re looking for a real-deal neighborhood bar with personality, a pint, and good people — McTeague’s delivers.

The coolest bar in san francisco. Prices are cheaper than hollywood.

I got the big breakfast and it was a bit too big. It did lack a bit of flavor but looks really creative. I would also say that the avocado smash looks so good but was too small lol. The atmosphere makes up for it. It is a beautiful Bohemian minimalist interior with gold rim lights with iconic egg lights. The warm feel of the space is roughened up with the hard washed white brick walls. If you come here for a date, it is a great place to hang out and chat. You're definitely here for the experience and not the food. The service was perfection. There wasn't a time when my glass of water was below half. 8.0/10
