Food quality (we had breakfast) rather poor for all we ate: the waffles were tasteless, oatmeal tasted burned, the apples of the fruit salad had partly decayed parts (though the rest was fine). Coffee quality was also poor. The prices however are high. If you live Elvis music, it might be worth. Elsewise for sure not.

Mel’s Drive In has always been my go to breakfast spot in San Francisco on Geary. I’ve been going here since the 1990’s and it has never disappointed me. My food was delicious and waitress provided awesome service. They even came and cleaned the table immediately when I was finished eating.
Parking: I was able to park directly in the front parking lot on Geary.

Typical American place with all kinds of dishes. We had a Mels burger + a Short Rin grille cheese sandwich for dinner. The burger was very good but the sandwich with the meat was very tender and juicy. The service was performed by David and Brian. David advised us at all times and made our dinner comfortable since he speaks several languages. Brian served the drinks and always has your glass of water full. Without a doubt if I return to San Francisco I will return to this place. As a point for improvement, the potatoes did not seem homemade but they told us they were.

I liked that we were quickly seated, our order was taken within 10 mins of being seated. The food did take a little while to come out. I think I had my expectations a bit high based on the reviews because I was disappointed. The pancakes weren’t all that. I’ve definitely had better at other places.
We ordered a bagel with cream cheese and the cream had mold in it… the waiter changed it for a new one, but did leave me thinking how disgusting it would had been to have eaten it without seeing it.
