Tried Miki Japanese on Balboa and it was a good experience. Friendly staff and efficient service along with a casual ambiance. The chirashi bowl had fresh fish with seasoned rice, nicely portioned and balanced. The salmon teriyaki and mixed tempura bento was also solid — the salmon was cooked well with a flavorful glaze, and the tempura was crisp without being oily. The bento sides rounded out the meal well. Overall, a good spot for Japanese food in the neighborhood.

Very good food in a charming place.I enjoyed all the food that was served to me from the starters to the main dishes.Even small regular starters like the Edamame were really really good and tasty. I also loved the fried chicken starter, served with a nice mayonnaise dressing on the side. This place was awesome! I posted this review just to combat the review saying the ramen tasted like it came from a kit. The ramen was fresh and had a great portion of noodles. Will come again : )
