I visited Mission Bar recently and tried their cheesesteak sandwich, which was quite good. However, I couldn’t ignore my disappointment in learning about their “employee benefit” policy, which seems like passing off employee benefits onto customers. It left me feeling unsure about the restaurant’s responsibility towards its staff. Overall, a decent experience, but with some reservations about their practices.

While the food was alright, this restaurant engages in a dishonest bait-and-switch pricing scheme. Not included with the price of the food is a ~5% service charge that pays for employee healthcare. As a customer, that is not my responsibility. That is the responsibility of the employer. The food is already expensive, and it is utterly unacceptable for a company to demand both a service charge and a tip. They ought to simply increase their prices. This dangerous charade must not be tolerated.Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible

Higher prices, but I think that's par for th3 course considering this restaurant is located in an airport. That being said, great level of service here. The entire team works together cohesively to provide refills and to assure that tables' needs and orders are taken care of efficiently. If you sit and watch them work, I think you'll understand what i mean. It's impressive. Further, they didn't seem to mind me hanging out for a bit after I paid while I waited for my next flight. The entire team was great on this visit, afternoon of March 10th. Nazzal (hope i got the spelling correct) and Eric were, in particular, super on top of it. Seemingly easy-going and a good work ethic.Would happily return.

After paying my bill I noticed an abusive charge on my tip from 18% it total 25% without my permission. There was a hidden tip called SFO employee benefitAnd the tip was based on the bill total including the Tax.THATS WRONGTip is my decision based on the service. I don’t have to carry the employee “benefits“ is not this charge on the employer?

I had a nice experience here. The service was polite and fast. I ordered the clam chowder. It was good with some decent slices of clams. The bill came quick when requested. It's also a nice spot to relax. Grabbing a bite between flights here went smoothly.

Chicken club ($25) with house salad was good by airport standards. Service was prompt. Just about everything on the menu is around $20.

Awesome stop in E terminal. I ordered a grilled cheese and a whiskey&coke. Cheese was all hot and drippy with nice thick toast. Whiskey and coke was nicely balanced. Tel made me a White Russian for dessert. Lovely chocolate milk flavor! I don't look forward to flying but I always look forward to the Mission bar at san fran.

The chicken club sandwich with a Caesar salad was delicious. The server was also very attentive and came out quickly. Overall for airport food, this was great and it has a nice ambiance.

The chicken sliders are the way to go for the price. The most bang for your buck. The turkey sandwiches as well. The burger was disappointing for the money.

Ridiculous service. I went to order a kids meal to go and the guy required me to have my children present to order a kids meal. WTF?! My kids were at the gate with my husband. I'm not going to make them walk around the terminal with me while I get their lunch. When I was incredulous about it he was like sorry it's our policy.

Erik at Mission Bar Grill in terminal 3 went above and beyond. He was happy and pleasant in general but he also saw my large water bottle on the table and offered to fill it for me. When I said it was new he took it to the back to wash it out for me first. That was so thoughtful and appreciated. Thank you Erik!
