Mochica was excellent all around! Food and cocktails were delicious and our server Martin was so attentive, fun and hilarious! Atmosphere was loud and lively, but in a good way! Will definitely be back.

The service was good . The food mixed bag . I ordered Peruvian sausages& Potatoes which were good but the sausages were four cut pieces cured not fresh as I thought they would be , the beef Lomo Saltado had barely enough beef pieces and predominantly soy flavour and no other . Beef was chewy . Ordered Rioja wine which was good

Came here with friends last night and had a reservation. We were seated on what looks like an addition and was up against the wall with a large bench, which worked out well for us. Tables had a mix of tea light candles as well as some led tea lights but it was pretty well lit and didn't need those table lights but does add a bit to the ambiance.

We ordered several appetizers and small dishes that I missed taking photos of but came out pretty quick. We had ceviche (which I didn't have so not sure on quality but the table seemed to like it), Mac n cheese, yucca fries, Tequenos, pulpo, shrimp and tuna tartare. Mac n cheese was a standout and better than I expected, really creamy but not overly oily/fatty with a nice mouth feel. The octopus was nice and tender but nothing to special about it--could have used a nice sauce to pair with it and the tartare was just okay, not as fresh as I'd hoped. The shrimp was also a hit and the quinoa coating they put on it gave a nice textural contrast to the dish.

For entrees, I had the pollo, which was nice and tender and it came with fries and a salad. The salad didn't quite seem to fit well with the dish. The greens were a bit bitter and honestly a bit soggy. The seafood paella was really good, seasoned well and the seafood was cooked to perfection.

Overall an enjoyable meal but a bit on the pricey side. It's a nice date night or special occasion restaurant but a bit steep for a regular meal out.

This was my first time at Mochica, which is a wonderful discovery. It is an unassuming, hole-in-the-wall space on Potrero Hill, a true neighborhood restaurant. The space is comfortable and the decor is fun. I was warmly welcomed. I am disabled, using an assistive device, and the staff went the extra length to make sure I was safe and comfortable. The service was attentive, courteous, and efficient. I had Tuna Tartare and grilled salmon, which were absolutely excellent. The chips that went with the salsa were the best chips I ever had. We shared a flan for dessert, which was out of this world. I will definitely come back!

We went here for an early Xmas Eve dinner after attending a play. The food and service was outstanding. All our meals were so flavorful and fresh.

Might not be coming here for brunch again ... the food was fine, but nothing special to justify the price. The menu looks pretty good and I would love to come back to try their burgers. Lovely restaurant, the vibes are great and the server came to check on me throughout the meal. Looking forward to trying this spot out for a different meal next time.

Mochica is amazing. The food is consistently excellent and full of flavor. The service is great and the staff is always welcoming with positive energy. The music stays at a comfortable level, which makes it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. The vibe is warm and inviting every time. This is easily one of my favorite go-to places.

The food here is incredible. The entrees are very generously portioned and best enjoyed family-style. The prices make more sense when you see how much food you get! We most recently got the Pescado a la Macho and the Pollo a la Brasa. The seafood soup has some of the most delicious broth I’ve ever tasted! The seafood and especially the fish was all cooked perfectly. It’s incredibly rich so enjoy it with the coconut rice and order to share. My husband loved the combination of the roasted chicken, fresh salad, and fries. Everything was delicious! We’ll be back and can’t wait to try more!

A hidden gem in San Francisco! This is by far the best Peruvian in the Bay Area. The food is consistently fantastic and the drinks are superb. We always bring guests from out of town to Mochica when they visit!

Really good and quick service for a birthday dinner. The pastry of the empanadas was amazing and the bolitas with chorizo were really good too.
