Excellent yakitori spot. Get a seat at the bar, watch them work the grill, and bask in the smell of charred meat and sake.

Awesome awesome spot. Really incredible vibe in there and great music.

Food is clean eating and delicious, we ordered a ton and loved everything.

The mackerel, mushrooms, scallion chicken, and short rib were incredible. Got one of their highball cocktails as well which was insanely refreshing and a great balance of sweet and sour.

Highly recommend this spot! Seating is limited.

This place is epically good and AUTHENTIC!!! I had the best scallop skewer and grilled mackerel. The chef is from Okinawa and everything was literally cooked to perfection. I am so coming back and bringing friends here!!

Good food but not wow or particularly memorable. Very expensive for what it is ... shockingly expensive actually. Sausages were noting better than Little Smokies, skirt steak probably best skewer. Various chicken skewers average. Ramen pretty good. Tiny but charming interior. Fantastic service.

Awful experience with Moku.

We booked this place with my fiancée after checking the menu picture on Google showing a classic yakitori “a la carte” between 6 and 15 each. We had time for a quick 40min dinner before our movie so it was perfect.

When we arrive a the place, they hand me a prix fixe menu at $100 minimum for one hour and explaining this is the only option.

I explain the misunderstanding, calmly. We didn’t have time to properly enjoy this dinner and it was not what was communicated on Google.
The lady and owner were super rude with me. They never wanted to let it go, they told me I made a mistake, and implied it was my fault. I triple checked and it was not mentioned anywhere.
They charged me $100 of cancellation fee ($50 per person) via Resy (I had to use it for the booking) and only offered to refund if we come back in the future.

What kind of place hold their customers money to force them to come back?

Awful experience, really.

Very disappointed with the new business structure - omakase/fixed menu $$$. It is not worth it. Please return to reasonable prices and a la carte menu a la 6 months ago.

It's not listed but it's literally a Prixe Fix menu..... cheapest option is $90.00.... anything you'd want is $145.00 per person. For "street food" it's utterly ridiculous. Catering to the neo-yuppie crow of the Inner Richmond.

Super bummed to find out that now they only serve a tasting menu, with the cheapest option being $90. This is a significant amount more than what I’d normally spend per person, and as someone who focuses on veggies and more tame proteins, this is a huge bummer. Used to be able to drop by for a 20 minute, super tasty dinner at the counter. Now 90% of the city can’t afford to eat here- just another restaurant for the rich. This was the one yakitori place that wasn’t pretentious and didn’t require spending $100+ pp. The owner is super chill so I’m sad to see this happen.

Very sad about this change and hope they bring back an a la carte menu.

The restaurant no longer uses their set menu and instead is a $90 tasting menu per person, great food and atmosphere, reminds me of my time in the dive bars of Japan

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly the place is high end now

As a group of five, we had a fantastic experience with our server, Daniel, who was exceptionally attentive and hospitable despite the busy atmosphere.

Although I didn't capture photos of everything, some of our favorite skewers included the fatty jowl, pork cheek, bacon tomato, and chicken gizzard (which is particularly delicious here). Additionally, the raw fish dishes were outstanding!

While deciding on which skewers to order, I recommend grabbing a beer and trying the squid legs as well! :)

Many thanks to our chef Richard and server Daniel for providing us with a wonderful evening!

This spot always used to be packed and well worth the wait before the menu changed. I walk by on Fridays and Saturdays now and maybe see one table seated. Looks like I’m not the only one in the neighborhood who is disappointed by the new menu structure.
