this place is a real treat! Gluten Free diners are in for a treat with this restaurant - I am only sorry that it has taken me so long to discover it.

This is my second time coming to Montesacroand I absolutely love it. This time I brought a friend who is not gluten-free and she also found everything we had delicious. The warmth and care of the service is also what makes this place so lovely. Thank you for finally bringing amazing GF food to San Francisco.

Service from Ian was exceptional. Food was unbelievably good. My new favorite restaurant in San Francisco!

Absolutely incredible meal! Just knowing I could have table bread as a Celiac was just thrilling. For appetizers. We had the suppli (risotto balls) And they were to die for. For dinner I had the puttenesca and my husband had the lamb shank. The flavors were fabulous and I'm still thinking about it a day later. We had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert and it was so light. It felt like we were eating a chocolate cloud. We're going back later this week for the tiramisu.

I greatly enjoyed my meal at Montesacro Marina. We ordered the Gnocchi (Potato Gnocchi with Slow Braised beef ragù and Parmigiano Reggiano), the Maranella (pizza with sausage, burrata and brocclini), the Gamberi Aglio (Jumbo Shrimp with Breadcrumbs) and the Cavolo Nero (Raw Black Kale Salad with Anchovy vinaigrette). My favorite dish was the pasta, I found the gnocchi's hearty mochi-like texture quite decadent. The beef was very high quality, and the tomato sauce was uniquely flavorful, without the tomato being overpowering. The jumbo shrimp was a close second. It was juicy, delicately breaded, and jumbo indeed. The staff here provided and high level of service and I love that they have a dedicated gluten free kitchen.

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary and were very excited, especially since I have Celiac and don't often get to enjoy a full dining experience comfortably. The evening started off wonderfully. The service was great at first, and the suppli (croquettes) were phenomenal. We also ordered the cacio e pepe and the margherita pinsa, both of which were good and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill as the night went on. When we tried to order tiramisu for dessert, we were told it was already sold out. Given that our reservation was at 7:30 PM, this was surprising and disappointing, especially since it was what we were most looking forward to. Around this time, a loud and presumably intoxicated group of about 10 people arrived and completely changed the atmosphere of the restaurant. What had started as a quiet, intimate anniversary dinner quickly became overwhelming. Our server seemed entirely focused on that group and forgot about us for quite some time. We waited about 10 minutes just to place our dessert order, and after finishing dessert, it took another 10 minutes to receive our check. During that time, our server was standing at the counter folding napkins while we tried repeatedly to get his attention. I understand that busy nights, large parties, and the holidays can be challenging, but the lack of attentiveness and the shift in atmosphere greatly affected what was meant to be a special evening. Additionally, I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, and while we didn't expect anything extravagant, it was disappointing that it went entirely unacknowledged. What began as a lovely, promising evening ultimately turned into a loud and frustrating experience.

The food was very basic comfort food ,heavy, it did not match the expensive price. The service was just OK maybe because it was the Christmas season or because this is a small restaurant but I would probably not go back.

My partner is gluten and dairy free, and finding new places to try is a rarity-- usually we save it for celebrations. To discover that a menu with dairy free listed in its top right corner didn't actually have any DF offering, without negotiation about substitutions between the server and the kitchen, was disappointing and stressful. While nothing was bad per se, and the server did his utmost, it was a costly adventure which left us all feeling overlooked by the kitchen.

Cacio e Pepe was disappointing - bland, tasted like it had been sitting for a while, and was a small portion. Wine that was recommended by server was excellent, however. Staff was friendly but felt understaffed.

We had a delicious dinner for 8 people on short notice and were thrilled to find the restaurant is completely gluten free. The pinsa crust was outstanding and as good as their original non gluten free version. They also make fresh gluten free pasta and gnocchi that several of us enjoyed. Highly recommended! Also the service was spot on!

This was a great gluten-free restaurant when our niece came to visit. She had never seen a full restaurant dedicated to gluten-free, so this was a hit! We all had a great time and enjoyed the food. Nice ambience and friendly staff.

The food was amazing — all gluten-free! We had risotto and gnocchi.
It was my birthday, so the dessert came with a candle, and everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to me - which was a nice detail.
Luis - the bartender was very kind.
