Solid neighborhood Japanese, with a little something for everybody — a wide selection of hot and cold appetizers, nigiri, rolls, noodle soups and classic entrees. Though maybe not a culinary destination, a fashionable local option frequented by Dogpatch regulars. Outdoor patio seating. Dog-friendly, inside and out.

Soft Shell Crab Katsu, crunchy breadcrumb deep fry served with Japanese tartar sauce — satisfying comfort. Squash Blossom Tempura — a novel seasonal specialty, the batter, more beer batter. Shrimp Dumplings — top choice. Hamachi Kama, chargrilled yellowtail collar — excellent. Chicken Udon — solid delivery.

Sun Dragon Roll, though good, the shrimp tempura batter was not as lightly crisp as hoped, the rice slightly densely packed. Inari with Wasabi special — clever and sweet. Selection of nigiri sushi, does the trick, but not life-changing.

Great as a small dish izakaya, with Japanese whiskey flights a novelty.

Fantastic! Admittedly, I don’t know much about Japanese cuisine, but I was with some friends who knew a little and our server (Michael) offered expert advice as well.

Some of the most amazing things were some kind of red spicy seaweed side and a tempura corn dish, both incredible. I ended up ordering the Tokyo kar-age udon with veggies, and it was incredible.

I will definitely be back to this place.

It was our first time dining at this restaurant. The fish was fresh, and the menu was decent, but the service really missed the mark. We had to ask for the check multiple times, and each request for anything — food, drinks, or the bill. The hostess was just standing around and didn’t communicate with the servers when we asked her for help. When I asked another server for the check, he said I had to ask my assigned server — seriously? We ended up waiting longer than we actually spent eating. Not the best experience overall

The salmon was overcooked, very burnt and bitter!

They were super knowledgeable about gluten allergies and the food was really good! The flaky salt on the edamame was perfect.

Had a really great dinner here for a friends birthday. Sometimes I’m skeptical of a place that offers so many different things on their menu but every single dish we got here was terrific. I was thoroughly impressed by the flavor of everything and how fresh and delicious the fish was. Great service and atmosphere as well

Tasty sushi and friendly server. Last call for food was a bit early. Serving sizes were decent and drinks were tasty.

It is insulting to the Japanese to call this place a "Japanese" restaurant. What they serve is NOT Japanese in any sense.
I had the veggy noodle but was NOT good. Way too overpriced. You've got to put in more effort if you're gonna charge so much.

Really wanted to love this spot. Miso soup was saltier than what I prefer. The sushi roll was not properly wound and disintegrated the moment the chopsticks touched it. I don’t plan to return.

The food at Moshi Moshi is varied and good quality. Service was good, except for one snafu, one entree arriving too fast. The sake was hot and tasty. Prices are not low but not outrageous either. We spent about $45/person, sharing one small pitcher of sake.
