The portuguese egg tarts have great flavor and the hong kong style egg tarts have great texture. All their bread is amazing too.

really good Portuguese egg tarts. IMO better than some in HK if they are fresh out of the oven. Scallion bun sleeper pick

Your typical Chinese bakery with really good egg tarts, Portuguese style egg tarts and cake. I lady that works there was really nice too.

Legit egg tarts! Cash only.
I love everything here! Just be aware it's cash only. And don't leave without a Portuguese egg custard tart or 5.

If you go on the weekends, the chances of scoring a freshly baked egg tart increases as there are more people picking up tarts. I like their regular egg tarts more than the Portuguese ones. The caramelized sugar top is too sweet for me. Maybe the younger folks like it more. Surprisingly, no line today at around 1pm. The buns are good here. I like their BBQ pork buns and curry buns. The bonus for me is sometimes seeing old high school friends while waiting in line.
They also do birthday cakes with customized lettering. Solid Chinese bakery.

Cash only :/
Worst 雞仔餅 you can find in the world, I'm serious, it's texture is so hard, not soft, didn't have any taste that it should have and didn't look good also. This is the worst I ate.

Great pineapple bun with a delightfully flavorful and crunchy top, though the bread was a little dry. I went shortly before closing, so it probably wasn't as fresh.
No wait on a random Thursday around 5pm.
Vegetarians beware: the corn bun has ham in it (I sadly didn't consider this possibility when I ordered, silly me). I was enjoying it before I realized, so recommend for meat eaters!

Not so hidden gem for Hong Kong style baked goods. Egg Tarts are filled with custard-y egg and pastry shell is flaky. BBQ pork bun is filled, not air pocket and the bread is fluffy. Same for the cocktail bun. Service is efficient and pleasant. Atmosphere is rustic and functional.

Great birthday cakes
Best bbq pork buns in SF! Highly recommend!
A definite staple for traditional egg tarts and Portuguese egg tarts! They keep well in the fridge or freezer and can be eaten cold or toasted
