New Eritrea Restaurant Reviews
I really enjoyed my meal there last night. Ordered the vegan combo with the gluten-free teff injeera. The only thing I had to send back were the side order of mushrooms. I requested little or no oil and the dish was drowning in oil. They took it back, no problem and removed the item from my bill. I will go back!
If ever there was an unpleasant, distasteful and possibly racist restaurant it's this. My wife & I had visited May 29th, 9 PM and as soon as we entered the host looks us from top to bottom (Indian couple) and flat out says "15 mins, you have 15 mins". At first, I assumed positive intentions assuming that Maps/Yelp was indeed wrong about hrs and we assured we will get done soon. We take the menu and try to order and were reminded again "15 mins" and even though it was disrespectful,...read full review
My boyfriend and I had a craving for some Ethiopian cuisine and thought we'd check out New Eritrea.. Being in the hospitality industry...Excellent customer service from walking in to leaving the restaurant. Most delicious vegetarian combo platter. By far this is our fave new place and highly recommend this restaurant! Yummy sambusas too! Grade A service, food, and cozy atmosphere!

The New Eritrea Restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, serving a variety of Eritrean and Ethiopian dishes. Vegetarians will find plenty of options, including veggie combos, lentils, and sambusas. The restaurant is kid-friendly and has easy wheelchair accessibility. Diners can enjoy traditional dishes like kitfo, yellow split peas, and lentils, served with a side of injera bread. Guests often enjoy the sampler with spongy bread for dipping, and the vegetarian house combo with six different entrees, which is very delicious. The injera bread is always fresh, soft, and flavorful, making the dining experience fun and memorable. The restaurant also has a big bar, adding to its lively atmosphere.
Customers praise the excellent gored gored and attentive service. The ambiance with the lighting and the back atrium that lets in light during the day while allowing the homey sophistication to set in during the evenings is top-notch. The food is good and plentiful, though some find the injera a bit too sour. The price is reasonable, considering the restaurant's proximity to Golden Gate Park, and the modern design inside is a pleasant surprise.
