Friendly Sunset district breakfast spot with free coffee refills. I ordered Corned Beef Hash with my eggs over-easy, which is the most challenging way to cook eggs without piercing the yolk. The eggs were expertly cooked. Good job!!

I enjoyed their pancakes! Coffee was strong and fresh orange juice was delicious. Will try their Loco Moco next time.

First time here but had heard good things about New Taraval Cafe from others and it lived up to the rumors! I ordered the Smash Burger with grilled onions ($13) and it was fantastic! The burger had two patties and was so thick I couldn't fit my mouth around it. The whole thing was so moist (in a good way) that I couldn't keep it together. It was at least a three napkin burger and even then, the juices were running down my hands and wrists! It came with a side ofries and they were good as well. The only thing I would've wanted along with this burger would be a nice thick milkshake, but my calorie count would've never allowed it! Didn't even look to see if they offered shakes! My friend had the scrambled eggs with hash browns, toast, and bacon and she really enjoyed her meal. The eggs were cooked medium, so they looked moist. There were five strips of bacon (that's a LOT of bacon), all fried nice and crisp. The hash browns looked delicious; lots of crunchy parts and soft insides. She had two slices of sourdough toast with butter and jam, too, and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (you can see the machine near the cooking area). This is a great neighborhood find. Lots of people seem to know about this place; there was a line when we arrived at 12:30 and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table although space at the counter opened up before that. I noticed a fruit plate going by that had a great mixture of fresh fruit on it, so everything seems to be fresh here. I'll definitely go back to try other items!

I really dig this spot. Their food, ticket times, and hospitality will be easy for my son and I to come back to.

Great diner with a solid breakfast menu full of options. Diner is small and feels very local to the neighborhood crowd. Not the newest or flashy place. The guy who greets you at the door is an awesome dude with amazing customer service. Such a home town welcome feel for us tourists. Did not eat lunch so I can’t comment on that, but Recommend for breakfast. Had a scramble and enjoyed it. Kids had pancakes and seemed to like them. I thought they were a little dry. Wife got French toast and it was excellent. Bacon was cooked crispy just how we like it.Parking: Weekend parking is free and before 9 am is easy to find a spot. Later on in the day I can’t say as I would assume the street parking would fill up.

Unpretentious. Good value. Large portions. Clean bathroom. What more you want? Love the service and welcoming atmosphere. Mom and pop kind of place that turns back the clock to better days before franchises glorified my morning coffee and breakfast. I can see why this place has regulars on a daily or weekly basis.

I got the California burrito without tomatoes (eggs, avocado, mushrooms, cheese, choice of meat). It was huge and fresh, with lots of egg. I asked for my bacon crispy, but they use such thick cut bacon that it was still pretty chewy. I look forward to trying one with a different heat. Overall, a fine breakfast burrito.

I had the 2 egg, 2 sausage and 2 french toast. My coffee was topped off often. Before you go, make sure you have cash, as it's a CASH Only restaurant.

Old fashion mom and pop American breakfast cafe with a tinge of Mexican fusion. The food is great and prices are decent. Staff are friendly and attentive as well. Street parking is decent, but be prepared to walk a block for free parking.Parking: If you can, just walk for the free parking. Less traffic and you don't have to deal with Taraval's busted road and street cars.

Breakfast in the Sunset is the best. The NTC is back, and now open 7 days. The original family has partnered with a Mexican family, and the results are extra delicious with a Mexican flair and options. This is half of my phat California breakfast burrito, which I'm taking home. Cash only.

PLEASE NOTE IT IS CASH ONLY - we didn't realize and my hubby had to run to an ATM to pay. That's on us, we didn't see the sign because we had a stroller and a toddler. Very, very small space but has a solid selection of breakfast food. They were very welcoming when we came in, and it was just the three of us, but for a group any bigger, it would have been too many for the space. I had an omelette and hash browns and they were really good.
