Nickie's was great! We visited San Francisco for my birthday and it was close to our hotel and just what we needed... A fun bartender, cheap drinks, and great locals to chat with. No frills, didn't try the food, just there for the late night mellow dive.

Awesome bar with a great beer selection and food. Today they played a lot of 90s hip-hop and rap!

We were visiting from out of town and we're wandering around the neighborhood and came across this spot. Parts are apparently under construction but didn't take away from the great service and strong drinks. It'll be a spot we check out again when in SF.

While it's not 1990's nickie's, they have anchor on tap, really good pub food with veggie options, and nice service. Sunday brunch/2:30pm.

We came here after a show at 10pm, absolutely ravenous and looking for something substantial. The bartender seemed annoyed when we walked in that we wanted to order food, even though the kitchen was still open. We were not offered a table and sat at the bar. It took a long time for them to come out with the food, and it was not very good. My friends/boyfriend ordered burgers and they were mushy and wet and honestly just barely edible according to them. One of my friends only ate 2 bites of her burger and couldn't finish it. Then 30 minutes later my boyfriend got a very severe case of food poisoning that couldn't have come from any other food we ate that day, since we hadn't eaten in 7 hours. He was extremely sick for over 24 hours and it made the end of our trip a real bummer. :( It was likely a staph-type food poisoning because it happened literally 30 mins after we ate. Beware!!

Had two very good evenings here: great staff, music and food; good place to watch a game.

Stumbled across this place with my friend on our first day in San Francisco. It started tame. We got a warm welcome and decided to try out the 'mystery shot' on the menu and the rest, as they say, is history. We met three lovely guys in there over the course of our 5 hour drinking binge, none of whose names I can remember. The guy behind the bar was lovely and friendly, I think we met the owner and another local whose ear I chewed off (sorry dude). Two of them even took part in a Facebook live video, which I laugh at every time I watch it. One of the guys even helped us get an Uber back to our hotel when I was too drunk to function. We didn't eat here (which would have been a good idea) but the food looked good. My favourite part of visiting the States was meeting the locals and this place offered me one of the best opportunities of the whole trip. Highly recommended!
