Such wonderful Japanese Curry. There were subtle spices and even a slight apple flavor in the sauce. Quality food and good portions.
I got the pork katsu with the potato croquette and my partner got the chicken katsu with the Aji Fry (mackerel).
Also the restaurant has a nice well lit, cozy setting with soft music playing in the background. Perfect for a date! I highly recommend!
Plus, if you are vegetarian they have options for you too.

Really good, the curry is very peppery and you can’t adjust the spice level but they offer red pepper and tempura flakes on the side.

i rly like this curry. they have a really high tech takeout container that separates the katsu from the curry and rice so ur katsu doesn’t get wet and soggy.

solid curry katsu and the cheapest asahi beer i’ve seen ($3!). in a neighborhood with bland food, nippon curry is actually a solid stop.

Just got back from Japan, and I can honestly say this place is the real deal. I had the pork katsu curry—crispy, flavorful, and totally satisfying. Love that you can add crunchy tempura bits on top, and it comes with a side of pickled veggies which adds the perfect bite. I come here at least once a month. The guy who I think is the owner is always super friendly and checks in to make sure everyone’s good. Portions are generous, prices are super reasonable (especially for SF!), and it just feels good to support a small local spot like this. With how many places are closing from rising rents, I really hope this one sticks around. Definitely worth a visit.
