We were lucky enough to miss the crowds on a Sunday evening in between shows at Grace Cathedral. We were seated at a window table. Our server was delightful, helpful and very accommodating. We only had a 40 minute window to enjoy the dining experience, so our server suggested specific items that would work with our schedule. The Octopus carpaccio was delicious. The presentation was very appealing and the flavor combo was spot on. The Fig salad was delicious. I look forward to coming back and enjoying a relaxed full meal. Sorry, I don't have any photos because we dug in so fast.

Carbonara pasta was perfect. If I lived in the area I'd be so fat right now!

Overated, but maybe we just made poor menu choices. Food a bit bland, we had Lasagne and Chicken dishes.
Busy, good atmosphere, service ok, but pricey for a relatively simple dish with no great flavor 😕
Glad we didn't spend more getting drinks.

Lured here by the insane prices elsewhere for a plate of pasta, hopes were high when we were put on a wait list to get in.
However those hopes were quashed when my Pollo Alla Riagianto came out and I started eating it. It's not that the food was inedible. I'm sure the ingredients were fresh and cooked thoroughly. However the food was so bland. The chicken was unseasoned. The tomato sauce had some herbs in it, but not enough, and not salt or pepper (there was no salt or pepper on my table either).
It was most disappointing because it looked delicious, it just didnt have any flavour.
Maybe my European taste buds aren't adjusted to bland white american food, as the Americans seem to have about how great this place is. But if I served that dish in my own home I would be embarrassed, let alone charging $35 a head (including tip).

This is an Italian restaurant as much as I’m the Pope.
Had the worst service ever and the food it’s at most meh.
The fact it has so many good reviews it’s mind boggling.

We had the most wonderful experience at The Nob Hill Café. The staff and management were incredibly friendly and welcoming, giving the restaurant a true neighborhood, community feel. It’s clearly a favorite spot for all age groups, with a warm and lively atmosphere.
The restaurant itself is spotless, well-appointed, and has a cozy charm. Wait times were very reasonable, especially considering the outstanding quality of the authentic Italian food. The value is excellent, upper-class dishes at fair prices, and the setting works perfectly for a candlelight dinner, family outing, or larger groups.
We enjoyed an amazing variety of dishes: octopus carpaccio, beef carpaccio, heirloom tomato caprese, meatballs, a selection of fish dishes, two pizzas (prosciutto and margherita), gnocchi, and two daily specials. Every dish was truly authentic Italian, prepared with the finest fresh ingredients and cooked from scratch.
We can only recommend The Nob Hill Café wholeheartedly and will definitely return. Thank you, Michael, Esther, and Lisa, for such a memorable evening!

Stopped by this very cute cafe in Nob Hill and was very pleased with the friendly service and delicious food. I had the carbonara with the olives as an appetizer and a glass of Chianti. Amazingly delicious!
