Decent food, cool concept.
Been to this concept twice. But probably won't return.

The owner didn't deem us cool enough so he only said hi to the white people groups at the counter even though we sat at the center of the groups and I'm a returning customer. He even gave the other party extra shots in front of my face.

Why come back only to be treated as second class customers. /shrug

Loved my experience at ODETOKYO! Highly recommend. One of my favorite new Japanese spots in the city.Note: Recommend parking on 6th St as there is limited parking on Tehama and they are strict about 1 hr parking—you may get a ticket. It’s a non-descript location and you’ll need to ring the doorbell when you arrive.I loved the people (Larisa is amazing; pre-reservation and attentive as needed), the sushi is fresh, delicious, and carefully prepared by a rotating cast of top-tier sushi chefs from other iconic establishments in the city, the music is great, and they have a mixologist on-site if you want more than sake. Or zero-proof/NA beverages! Vibe is chill and you can have a social experience at the community table, interact with the sushi chefs, or an intimate experience in one of their many corners. They offer 2 dining experiences: a la carte + sake and a 16-course omakase (6p & 8:30p). Their chirashi bowls and sashimi are ? and reasonably priced for the city. I can’t wait to come back for the full omakase. My only wish is for them to be open MORE NIGHTS so I can come all the time :)

Parking: 6th street has the most options. Free parking after 6pm.

Beautiful and chill interior space with fantastic service. Vinyls, red-hues and wood furnishings occupy what appears still to be a well kept secret in downtown SF. Really enjoyed the atmosphere on a casual Friday evening, sake selection and sashimi were well curated. Listened to great music while catching up on some conversation and reading. Chef Daniel is as friendly as he is talented, his ice cream dessert with green tea mochi was incredible. Will definitely be back.

If you are looking for a Japanese meal, good vibes, relaxing atmosphere and wonderful people, try out ODETOKTO! Chef Daniel prepares 15 course meal and there is sake pairing available for purchase. There is a dj playing vinyl music and handmade nori chips as well.

Easily in my top three of best food ever eaten. Additionally the staff (Daniel & Larissa) are the nicest people to hang out with. Absolute a massive recommendation!

Amazing location, awesome vibe, great food and real tasty sake! Put your fate into Chef Daniel's hands and you won't regret it. Classic Japanese cuisine with the Chef's personal twists and takes. Great music, food, and company make for an unforgettable evening inside a beautiful, cozy interior. Definitely a must-visit for me if I ever find myself in San Francisco again!

This place is excellent! The food from Chef Daniel is top notch and the vibes are great. Huge fan of the physical space and really am excited to see what the team here is able to do with the space.
