Old Skool Cafe Reviews
To celebrate our 27th anniversary, we went to @oldskoolcafe. The greeters, cooks and servers are all young people. Old Skool Cafe is a delightful experience, with charming kids working there and a great mission. The ambience is wonderfully warm, with a speakeasy vibe enhanced by velvet curtains and chandeliers. The food is really good, with highlights including the African yam curry, shrimp, fish stew, and delicious peanut stew. The big red velvet horseshoe-shaped booth remains a hit, as do the Brussels sprouts, which are excellent vegetarian options. The staff is accommodating, and the service is second to none, with quick attention to detail that makes dining feel like a Michelin experience. Live music from a talented jazz band adds to the fantastic atmosphere. This is a wonderful place for a date night or special event, perfect for celebrating with friends or colleagues, and conveniently located near attractions like a comedy show at Speakeasy Brewery.
