Something weird is afoot!? We popped in ( been visiting 16 years) this morning, there were two people there who told us they were closed, when asked if open tomorrow we got a kind of cagey ‘we don’t know’. Check before making the trip!

Don't even f****** go there!! The service is extremely bad! I went there for breakfast with a friend and the two waitresses kept ignoring us. I had to ask for the menu. Afterwards, we waited an hour for someone to take our order and no one came. The waitress passed by us kept talking to people mainly the older customers. Then she was going around filling people's coffee and still acting like we weren't there! We decided we had enough and walked out.

The portions here are great! The food was just like home made food. I actually saw the ingredients in my food. I got the veggie omelette and was shocked that there was so much avocado!! Usually places give a few slices, but my omelette was packed with it!!! The waitress I had was busy, but she made sure that my party's needs were taken care of. She was nice and considerate. I left there very full and happy.

Not a bad spot besides the fact they charge your credit card for more than your receipt states.

We sought out Olympic based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. Our waitress was attentive and quick. She made everything to order, even for our picky teens. My kiddo decided to try a Denver omelette for the first time and ate it all! She really loved the hash browns on the side. I asked for one poached egg and it was served to me still hot. Endless cups of coffee and really good 1970s R&B on the sound system set us up for a good day of sightseeing.

I've been staying in SF for the past 2 weeks and finally stumbled across this place. It's one of the more affordable diners in the area which is great and the food isn't bad at all!! They play really good music and the waitress was very friendly :-)

Cozy little diner. Good food. Breakfast burrito was . The only complaint would be that there's no fountain drinks, only can. Love the light mauve color booths.

The food (specifically pancakes and potatoes) looks unassuming but it was surprisingly good. Place has a retro diner vibe which I digged as well. Service wasn't the friendliest but it wasn't bad so fine by me.

For this price point, I don't think you can find similar quality anywhere near this area. Good, honest diner food. The food is much better than the better known diner options in the area

Was staying at the hotel across the street that didn't serve a decent breakfast. Came over here and was not disappointed. Had the meat omelette and enjoyed it so much I came back throughout the week I was there. Friendly staff and great service.

I have a weakness for diners, and for years when I stayed in one of the downtown hotels, I'd flee the expensive hotel coffee shop and head to the Olympic diner, where they had chicken-fried steak and an old guy doing the cooking who never changed and the TV blaring Fox News and a lot of duct tape on the seats. Well, back in SF, and where to go for breakfast. No way, no duct tape, no TV, no old guy. The same old place, but fantastically improved, as if you woke up one morning, and instead of being 40, you were 23 again, everything the same, but cleaner, newer, younger, and better. Fantastic food. Great service. Did I mention the food? Nice people. Clean bathrooms. Hurray. Oh, by the way, the food was good. Except no chicken-fried steak.

The good: mimosas! These are hard to get wrong. Family with us really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito. And the potatoes had great seasoning. The bad: lack of customer service - maybe short staffed?! - I dunno. After we got our food, we could never get her to come back. Even after making eye contact multiple times. We had dry toast, desperately trying to get butter and jam. My omelette lacked seasoning or cheese. It was blah! The cafe had about 4-5 tables going, so they weren't necessarily slammed. Pro-tip: get the breakfast sandwich. That was the highlight of our group.
