On the Bridge Reviews
My wife and I absolutely love this restaurant. We are from Santa Rosa and it is one of the ONLY reasons we try to visit the city semi-regularly. The staff is so very friendly, and the owner is brilliant in finding drinks that will match your palate, no matter what your preferred beverage is! The food is delicious and the anime and manga always enjoyed. Thank you so much for being here share with the community!!!
Amazing food with a different take on Japanese style cooking. Love trying all the different options.
A variety of Japanese rice wine (sake), beer and other beverages and friendly service.

The atmosphere is cozy and sweet, with Ghibli movies playing and staff putting on the requested movies, creating a warm, home-like feeling. The decor features manga on the walls, anime on the TVs, and adorable figurines, giving the place a charming, quirky vibe.
The restaurant also offers dishes that take time to prepare, like kara-age, mini sausages, and omurice, which taste like they are made with care—sometimes like home-cooked meals. Customers appreciate the friendly and passionate host, who provides information about Japanese beverages, including Japanese beer and sake, adding to the authentic experience. The location, situated on a bridge connecting two shopping centers, adds a unique touch to the dining experience.

The owner’s blend of traditional Japanese culture with American influences is appreciated, creating a welcoming environment. Customers have enjoyed dishes like Loco Moco and Kawaba Pilsner, recommending both. Overall, On the Bridge is a good choice for Japanese food, especially their curry dishes, and offers a fun, cozy atmosphere with a mix of unique and traditional offerings. Customers should be aware that service can sometimes be slow, but the charming environment and delicious food make it worth the visit. The restaurant’s long history, dating back to 1992, and its designation as a San Francisco Legacy Business, add to its significance and charm.
