Another office day, another new lunch spot to check out. I couldn't decide what to eat, and stumbled upon Plates on One Market, which had a food court with 4-5 different vendors. I opted for the osha Thai because I after seeing pad Thai, I knew it's what I wanted. I also do they had Panang beef, which is my favorite curry, and Thai basil chicken. The pad Thai and panang beef didn't disappoint. Although I wish I had gotten rice because to soak up the panang curry sauce. The Thai basil chicken was ok, I think next time I'd go for double panang beef. They had some fish/chili oil in the side which was nice to add a little kick to lunch. For the bowl it came out to $17, which for the portion size is pretty good. It was a hefty meal, that I could've easily turned into two meals. For the convenience and quality, it's a solid option for a quick lunch in fidi

Reopened! Just went here on Oct 12 2023. This place is in the One Market food court. It is like a Chipotle for Thai food. Aka best thing ever. The food quality is very good (if not quite up to the level of the main Osha - but what do you expect). The portions are large.

ATTENTION PEOPLE: Osha Thai Express is re-opened in the 1 Market food court! Price went up a dollar or two, but still cheaper than other places around the Embarcadero. The menu is similar to prior Covid. For those that complain about this place not being as good as the main restaurants, DUHH! This is the Express, it's not supposed to be like the full restaurant. This is a order counter, take out place. Calm down people.

This place isn't as great as the regular Osha Thai, but compared to various other Thai places around it's still pretty solid. I would go here if I was close by and my two other Osha Thai places I used to go closed :(.

Has this place reopened? I've tried to go a few times and it's always closed. I wonder if and when it reopens if the quality, serving size and prices will still be the same I hope so because I really miss the plates. This was one of my go to places downtown Pre-pandemic.

I loved Osha Thai back in the day and would visit their former locations in Pac Heights, Glen Park, and Embarcadero and thought they were the best Thai food in town. This place, however, has really taken their elevated menu and seriously demoted it. Although, they've kept the high prices and reduced the portion sizes. People keep saying huge portion sizes, but thats not actually true, it just look big in the container but when you open it you realize that every non-noodle dish comes on a huge bed of white rice, so what appears to be a big enough portion to split for 2 people, is actually one large spoonful spread over the rice. The result is, you barely get any of the actual dish, and there is NO SAUCE, because the white rice absorbed it all. So if you were thinking of ordering brown rice to use with your entree, you are out of luck b/c there is no option for brown rice, they just put the entree over the cheap white rice (at least for take out/delivery) and there is no option otherwise. The green beens were a huge disappointment. For $14, I would expect a decent amount of green beans, at least enough to split for 2 people. But no, its one large spoonful of green beans (each about 1/2" long) spread over a bunch of white rice. I have so much cheap white rice now, I have to feed it to my dog.

Really great food and a good deal. I love the downtown location but this one is as good. Highly recommended.

For fast food Thai this place is great. The line gets extremely long at noon but it moves pretty quickly and is worth the wait.

I'm definitely a huge fan of this place! It's located in the financial district and inside a food court, so it's a great spot for lunch during work. The line can be long at times, but I found it to move pretty quickly. The price points are fair as well! The one-item combo definitely filled me up, but I'd probably get the two item combo next time so I could also have some leftovers!! I chose to get the pad see ew for the side, and it was BOMB. It might be a tad oily, but I really loved it. There was strong flavor and the noodles were the perfect chewy texture. For the item, I chose the pumpkin curry which was also AMAZING! Really strong, authentic Thai flavors that made the dish amazing. Such a big fan and I def want to go back!

Wife got food poisoning today from a Thursday vegetarian lunch dish. Not good. Has been puking and going to the bathroom for the last 3 hours. Thanks Osha Thai for the food poisoning! /s

There was a huuuuge line during the weekday lunch rush from around 12-1PM. But like many people have said, it goes by pretty fast. I ordered the one side and entree and it was a perfect amount of food. I got the pad Thai with chicken pumpkin curry. The pad Thai is not saucy, so if you like a more saucy pad Thai you might be disappointed. But since I got it with the curry, everything was delicious! The curry was my favorite but the chicken is definitely dry. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal!! Fast service and good food.
