We come regularly to Otoro Sushi before our SF Symphony concerts. The menu selection is excellent and the quality of the food consistently delicious. The wait staff is the best - friendly, responsive, efficient, professional, regularly checking to see that the meal is progressing well. Over the many years we have been clients, they have been very welcoming and always take good care of us. We are very sad that this restaurant, one of our favorites, is having to close its' doors. We hope the owner will be able to find another location for this cozy little restaurant.
Otoro is our go-to Sushi restaurant when we want to get out of our Inner Sunset neighborhood, usually when we're headed to SF Jazz or the Symphony. Last night our 13 year old son chose it for his birthday dinner. I'm not sure I've ever had better sushi! The tapas, rolls and nigiri all were amazing - the barracuda, wow! We'll be back. Often!
Cozy neighborhood sushi spot with a great atmosphere. The food was delicious, they had a good variety of rolls and their service is quick and friendly. We came around 630pm on a Thursday and beat the rush. There’s about 10 tables inside and they also have a pallet outside for when the weathers nice!

Beautiful! Get the sashimi tasting, for sure. The fish was fresh, expertly prepared, delicious, and artfully presented. Attentive and patient service. Thank you for the perfect evening to catch up with friends from far away.
This was my first time going to this restaurant, and I was not disappointed at all. It is one of the best sushi places I've ever been to - the fish is incredibly fresh, the chu toro is like butter, the scallop (hotate) was great, as was their cut rolls (I think I had a hamachi lover while my daughter had a lava roll). You definitely pay for this level of quality but it's reasonable value for what you get. I would certainly come back here again when I'm in the area.
Wow - this place is underrated and hidden but oh dear sushi was unbelievableThe proportion of rice to fish was perfect, on the small side. The fish slices were generous. Quality outstanding and I will definitely be back!

Overall a really lovely sushi place. It's a bit on the smaller size for a restaurant, but this is pretty common in SF. I really enjoyed my order, and the quality of the food is quite good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars overall (though service is totally 5 star) is the price. It was about $180 for 3 people. That's a bit steep in my opinion. It's a great place with great quality food and stellar service. The chery blossom roll is really good, absolutely gorgeous, and inventive in its presentation! Otoro is just little pricey overall. You will like this place!

Otoro is consistently fantastic. Fish slices melt in your mouth. I have been going there for years when I want to treat myself or a friend from out of town. It's my favorite sushi place in the city.
I have been to Otoro many times but recently I have been disappointed. The menu has changed. The prices has gone up a lot and quality has gone way down. It looks as if there has been either a change in ownership as well as change in sushi chefs. I don't think I will go back and will let my friends know as I recommended this place to many of them.
Gotta get the otoro

Excellent sushi! Wonderful staff and very nice atmosphere.
The food here was amazing and the service staff was very nice and friendly. The ambiance was very chill and relaxing and it wasn't that busy, minus one party of 7 that came in during the middle of our meal. Besides that, great overall experience and quite affordable.
My wife and I are first time diners at Otoro Sushi. The Server, Staff and Chefs were Fantastic. We ordered the Garlic Softshell Crab, Hokkaido Scallops Skewers, Oyster Dynamite, Himachi Kama and Otoro Roll. All of the dishes were presented nicely and delicious. We will absolutely come back when we visit San Francisco again.
