Otra has really nice options for breakfast and lunch! Their food features a modern Mexican style, which I really enjoy. I like that the dishes can be either spicy or mildly spicy, and they’re happy to give you options!

The totopos were not up to par. If you are going to charge $8 and use the word totopos instead of chips, then they shouldn't suck. Half had no bite. None had masa flavor. The oil wasn't hot enough when these were fried I think. Bad tortilla chips. Hard pass. The staff was friendly when I picked up my food, which was prepared quickly and available on time.

Used to be one of our favorite local restaurants but it seems like it’s getting worse now. Started with a terrible drink, the mezcal old fashioned tested nothing like an old fashioned. The tomatoes in the tomato salad were grainy and the al pastor couldn’t have been more watery and overcooked. Worse was probably the giant TV playing a game that made the restaurant look like a sports bar. I hope they improve things soon! :(

One of our favorite restaurants in this neighborhood. Try their tomato salad and mushroom tacos with a mezcal old fashioned! The carnitas are good as well if you’re looking for meat options. It can be a little noisy in here but the staff and the food is great!

I walked in on a Friday shortly after opening and we ordered the tuna tostadas, fish tacos, birria tacos, beans, and mezcal margaritas. The food was elevated, and every dish had delicious flavors. I’ll definitely be returning!

Highlight was the beefy taco / fish taco and the pozole soup. Lowlights all the chips dishes and tuna tostadas, lack flavor.

I’ve actually been to Otra a few times and wasn’t really blown away. For the higher end prices, I expected a lot more. You’ll end spending a lot less at your local taco truck. Beautiful place for drinks and dates though.

The pozole was pretty bland, but the chips were decent. You can get better Mexican food a neighborhood or two over for a third the price.

Quickly becoming my favorite dinner in SF. Everything is delicious. Every time. Reservations are not too hard to get, and I think it’s easily the best value for money dinner spot in the city.

Beautiful restaurant but the food was so so. Too oily and not so flavorful. I’ll come back to try their drinks though!

So good. From the salsas to the tacos and spicy margarita, I was in heaven. Mexican food so often gets pigeonholed as quasi fast-food. At Otra, they're treating it as it deserves to be treated--elevated, contemporary and creatively inspired.
