I’ve always been intrigued when walked by this pub. We went to a show at August Hall and decided to stop for a night cap before heading back. It’s cozy and has a nice San Francisco old school vibe. It struck me as a local bar. Will definitely add this to my list of bars in the area.

After spending my last 6 birthdays or so at this bar with my friends I decided to make a reservation and agree to their $200 minimum. My friends and I met the minimum but our drinks were very, very weak. I know this because one of my friends just turned 21 and she did not feel a thing after 4 martinis. We also visited this bar early October and had a few rounds before a concert and we had a GOOD time then so I was convinced we were shorted. We proceeded to close out and visit a few more bars and after 2 drinks we were ready to go back to our hotels. After booking this months in advance and after being treated this way, it’s safe to say I will never be back. I truly felt taken advantage of and my friends left very unhappy too.

The Owl Tree is such a hidden gem in San Francisco that I almost don’t want to share it! We hosted our wedding welcome party in their upstairs space, and it was perfect. Adrianna, the events manager, is wonderful—she’s incredibly responsive and so easy to work with. She and the entire team took such great care of us, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
The space itself is private (including a private bathroom), full of SF charm, and incredibly reasonably priced for what you get. Our guests had a great time, and we’re already thinking of excuses to host another event here in the future.
Pro tip: order the cucumber gimlet and the espresso martini—you won’t regret it.
Can’t recommend The Owl Tree enough!

Great bar on the corner of Taylor and Post. Cute little neighborhood bar. Excellent cocktails (especially the Cucumber Mint Gimlet). Bartender was on his game and friendly! Can't wait to go back !
I hosted an event here in the private upstairs venue. The upstairs is big enough for a mid sized group 30-50 people. Terrific coordination from Adrianna, and our bartender Dasha knocked it out of the park with the drinks. We had a fantastic time and would definitely come back.
