Didn't really get the hype. Food was medium/average. Hygeine maintainence was so poor. In their cutlery section, there were unwashed spoons with curry stains. Not visiting again.

Best chana masala I’ve had in a while other than home! I do wish they had sesame naan.
Whenever we ask for tea, they say they don’t have any left.”

Love this place. Food was delicious and affordable. It's a bit hard to measure service and atmosphere for a small counter-service place versus for example a full service fine dining place, but everyone I interacted with at Pakwan was helpful and pleasant and the casual environment was welcoming and comfortable.

Very disappointed! The dining experience is ruined by the broken front door. It doesn’t close properly, letting in cold air and making it uncomfortable to eat. Multiple customers have raised this issue several times, and cashier say the I have told the owner and he knows, but months have passed with no fix.
This isn’t just inconvenient, it may violate San Francisco Building Code, ADA/Title 24 accessibility requirements, and the Accessible Business Entrance (ABE) program, all of which require doors to be self-closing, in good condition, and accessible. A simple repair would solve this, improve customer comfort, and bring the restaurant into compliance. If the owner continues to ignore this, the city could step in.
