Didn't really get the hype. Food was medium/average. Hygeine maintainence was so poor. In their cutlery section, there were unwashed spoons with curry stains. Not visiting again.
Love this place. Food was delicious and affordable. It's a bit hard to measure service and atmosphere for a small counter-service place versus for example a full service fine dining place, but everyone I interacted with at Pakwan was helpful and pleasant and the casual environment was welcoming and comfortable.
This is one of the best Indian/Pakistani restaurants in San Francisco. The neighborhood is on the bad side at night, but no one bothers you.
We had the lamb biryani, chicken biryani, and goat kadahi. Amazing flavor and delicious. It is a small place and you have to order on your own.
