The butternut squash ravioli was delicious and so was the Bolognese pasta. The eggplant was not eggplant Parmesan, it was eggplant cut up into three pieces with a piece of cheese on top and sauce poured over it. I would not recommend that.

We love the tradition of special holiday dinners at Palio: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day. It it now our tradition too. If you love italian fare and hospitality, check out Palio. Everything is homemade: from pasta to seafood, from their famous wood-fired pizza oven to craft cocktails.

Our party of 4 came to Palio for the first time for an early dinner and drinks and we were pleasantly surprised to have found a fantastic Italian restaurant near Union Square. The bartender Louis and owner Martino were both very friendly, made us feel welcome, and were very engaging. We had the Arancini, Margherita pizza and a shrimp pasta and all were excellent. The pizza was one of the best thin crust Italian pizzas we had in the city! It is a family run business with lovely staff, excellent food and drinks, good vibes, and great happy hour menu. I would highly recommend a visit!

We had a 3 course Italian as a large corporate group in the private dining room. Food was exceptional. Service was great. Service started with complimentary bread around the table with olive oil. Servers took choice of salad, first course. All courses had vegetarian options. Eggplant parmesan for main course and finished off with classic Tiramisu. Some of us also had coffee/latte to finish the meal. No complaints!!

Palio is one of the most welcoming restaurants in SF and had the most delightful servers and excellent food. I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner, small parties or large. Superb!!

I was in town for a week and made a stop here for dinner. Was looking for some sort of really good Italian dinner. I ended up picking a wonderful place. The service and food were both amazing with several really great choices. The drink menu was very creative and the bartender even offered to make drinks if you would give him your favorite ingredients. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are in the area.

Nice italian restaurant in the Financial District that caters to local business people. Not many tourists make it here. Busy at lunch and after work. Happy hour has decent food discounts for small plates.

Palio is, and has been for years, one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently delicious and well prepared and presented. The service is efficient, courteous and professional. The restaurant itself was renovated a few years ago, is very attractive and well appointed. Many of the staff have been there for many years, which I believe is the sign of a well-managed restaurant. Martino di Grande, the owner, is the consummate professional, and a wonderful man who greets patrons warmly and makes sure everything goes well. I heartily recommend Palio for small and large groups alike.
