Recently reopened (2026) after a long closue the Palmer is a textbook old San Francisco pub/tavern. The vibe is authentic and lively, with a great mix of all generations that blends seamlessly. The food is good pub fare, well done but not distinctive (SFO is a tough food crowd). Cool bar with very attentive service. The Filmore has plenty of dining options, and the Palmer should definitely be on the must-do list.
Loved that it has reopened and has a very vibrant vibe /atmosphere!! Food was excellent, we all had three different entries. Shared a couple of apps. Service was the issue. We started with one person, whom was not very personable or attentive. They went on a break. We then were traded off through out the dining experience by two/ three other servers. Much more pleasant and personable, but our service was a bit disjointed and we were never sure whom to address. In general the serving...
Apparently they don't apply their Happy hour until next year, even though its advertised online. Aside from that, it took servers awhile to get to us after forgetting said drinks
