Love Getting my Cards There

T. L.

I stopped by this morning 2/6/2020 and the employee ( dark hair and wearing glasses) who was working yesterday was working again this morning. I said good morning she did not respond, how rude. The staff here need serious training. I bought a bunch of cards, she did not acknowledge me even at check out. Later I went back to check out some more cards and there was a guy working in the late afternoon. I felt as if I was bothering him by going into the store. He was so annoyed by anyone who asked a question. At checkout he said RECEIPT. Such an unpleasant shopping experience.

kind of expensive but very pretty

This location is super tiny! Four people standing in the shop would fill it up. I ended up dropping in after my lunch to grab a couple cards for my clients for the upcoming holiday. The service was friendly and helpful, but I wasn't a huge fan of the way the cards were laid out, as such it took me a lot longer than I would have liked to find something 'office' suitable. I'd have preferred a non-denominational "holiday" section, with the Xmas and Hanukkah sections separated out to make it very easy to search by the type of card you wanted. Instead of having to look at each card and move on when it was Xmas themed. The cards were paid for by the company so the Papyrus prices didn't bother me, and the associate wrapped them in a nice bag. All in all, I'm glad this location is here, but there could be some updates made to make the experience amazing.

Well. I've had the best card searching experiences here! Louise and Julian are both overly delightful and pleasant to deal with. I'm a huge fan of the stationary, notebooks and cards here. I always find the perfect card and for one who loves to write, they often have awesome sales on notepads! 5 stars without a doubt.

Watch out they sell almost expired calendars for $8. I bought a calendar that I thought was good for the school year. Turns out was good for 4 more months.

It pains me to write this review, but here goes. I want to love this location, i really do. It's close to my job, it's Papyrus (I love this brand!) but this location is terrible. First, it's small, and not in a "cozy and charming" way. With 2 other ladies looking at Mother's Day cards, you can't get in to look either. When I come in, often I leave, because staff are sitting on the floors (stocking?) and blocking your way around. They have a lot of whatever is seasonal, but because it's so small, not a lot of everything else. What gets me about this place is the customer service. Twice now in the past week when I went in to purchase cards, I was told about the "buy 3, get 1 free" promotion. Fine, I went to pick a 4th card, woo hoo. Then comes the "are you a member?" "no" "oh, you have to be a member for that to work". OK, first, why not freakin lead with that? I realize it's not your problem that I have no time and have to run, but like seriously, I'm annoyed. Second was the inconsistency in what's required from me to be a member. The same lady told me 2 different things on 2 different days. First she told me all she needed was my name. Huh. The second time she told me she needed my name, my phone number, and my address. Really. When I pointed out that she didn't need that from me 3 days ago and how was it possible I got a free card 3 days ago FROM HER, she proceeded to repeat the same information again. From my POV, I'm trying to understand why there was different information on 2 days. What happened to the info she took the first time? When I got home I checked my receipt and sure enough, both times, I paid for that 4th card. Maybe it's just my luck with the staff person I'm getting, or maybe she's just having a bad day, but this is not the experience I'm looking for. Find another Papyrus. There are plenty in the city that must be bigger and friendlier.

Great little shop with beautiful selection of quality cards and gifts. Every time I have been in here Lois (the manager) has been so warm and welcoming and helpful. She takes extra care to make sure you leave with the perfect thing. Thanks Lois, you make it a pleasure to shop here!

Amazing large selection of cards and wrapping paper and other stuff for wrapping your gifts for your loved ones.

Neat, little card, knick knack shop.

Love this specific store and their staff! They're soooo helpful and nice all the time. Sometimes when I got a little frustrated about finding a card of certain themes or occasions, they can always help me find the most perfect card in a second. If you have multiple Papyrus stores in the neighborhood, go to this one! They're the best!

Super convenient and useful to grab your cards for any occasion- especially when you need to do so last minute. Appreciate that there's a specific section to wish coworkers good luck at their new jobs. Makes sense in the Financial District! Cards are high quality and you can always find some pretty cute or memorable ones.

The gift wrapping was great but customer service sucks in here. Also if u buy the whole sheet for 5.95 even u wrap a small box the remainder sheet is not given to u at the end. I will choose a different store next time not worth another visit.

This is a pretty small shop, but they have a solid selection. Cards are normal price, and the staff is friendly. Got an anniversary card here, and they had a good 2 shelves of these cards. They have a few other odds and ends that could be small gifts

The Papyrus in my home town closed, so I was sure to hit this one up when I was in the city. Cashier was helpful and pointed me to what I was looking for. I was in and out at planned!
