I love birrias tacos and I love chilaquiles, so I couldn't miss trying their birriaquiles. I got that and the horchata latte for breakfast. The birriaquiles were pretty good and the latte was alright but a bit too sweet for me.

Mostly docking stars here though since I'm not used to SF prices. The whole meal cost about $40 (including tip). I'm glad to have tried this place and the food was good, but I don't know if I'd pay $40 for this kinda meal again.

Food was good but the service and the atmosphere was not. The tables and chairs were dirty and the server was inattentive.

Paula’s Cafe is a cozy little spot in Lower Haigh with a warm, welcoming vibe and super comfy booths. Their Birria Chilaquiles are amazing—crispy tortilla chips and melted cheese soaked in flavorful birria sauce, with tender beef, over-easy eggs, fresh avocado slices, and some tangy pickled onions. The mix of flavors and textures is spot on, no need for any additional seasonings or fixings, making it a dish you won’t want to miss. If you’re after a laid-back, hand-crafted, elevated Mexican brunch, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Great little place on lower haight. The HORCHATA is the BEST. Casamiento, plantains and tostones. Enjoy!

Homey-style diner with friendly service. Got the breakfast burrito and it was fresh and tasty. The home style potatoes were very good! Husband got over easy eggs and they were cooked perfectly. Price was very reasonable- 40 bucks for two full plates of food and coffee.

I almost didn't leave a review because I don't want to blow up my fave low-key breakfast spot, but they deserve it. I always get their classic benedict and a caramel latte. Both are delicious & I'll always keep coming back for them! Food always comes out of the kitchen very fast but still tastes like it was made with care. Nice cafe atmosphere & all the staff are lovely. Also, I love the way they do their breakfast potatoes! Where I grew up, the most common side to have with breakfast is "home fries", which I've always loved, but is surprisingly hard to find in the city. I'm so glad I found them here, the flavours and crispiness is very nostalgic to me :)All in all, Paula's is a true neighbourhood gem & I'll keep coming back here as long as I can!

I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and it was very disappointing. This is a scramble burrito. All the ingredients, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese are cooked together and the results aren’t very good. Everything kinda tastes like bacon, salty and smokey. Can’t taste the eggs or cheese. Potatoes pieces are big and taste like bacon on the outside and nothing on the inside. Sadly bacon isn’t crisp and has the texture of ham.The burrito is too salty for my taste, maybe the bacon. Salsa is not for me either. Definitely needs something with a bite to cut through all this salty, bacon flavored filling.I like breakfast burrito’s where the ingredients are cooked separately, with crispy bacon, and there is a variety of flavors and textures in every bite. This ain’t it. Not even close.

The place is nice, we ate very delicious… we ordered chilaquiles with chicken, the chicken was seasoned very well… we also ordered some eggs Benedict, very good flavor and well made… to hydrate we ordered a non-alcoholic pina colada…I highly recommend the place for breakfast.

The breakfast burritos are bomb! They also have all other traditional brunch dishes as well as some Latin America inspired ones like chilaquiles.
