The Italian cuisine at Pazzia is always authentic and delicious! The service is very gracious and hospitable. This restaurant has remained consistently wonderful in every way since I started dining there in 2006. I look forward to continuing to recommend it to friends, guests and residents.
The Fritti first course was overcooked so that the calamari was tough and hard to chew. The pizza was ok but the oven isn't high heat enough so the crust was not Neapolitan, but was cracker like. My Lamb was perfect and the contorni (broccoli veg) was good. Service was slow. Looked like the kitchen staff was la-di-da-ing, and not operating as a team
Wonderful service and food!

This is a nice place in SOMA to enjoy the locals. The food is outstanding. Make this a dinner spot.
The charming server brought me a glass her favorite Montepulciano which paired perfectly with the meatballs and sausage rigatoni We sat outside where the traffic noise was intermittent. Might be Little noisier inside. Unpretentious little neighborhood gem. Highly recommend
Cosy, casual, relaxed, good food. Nice flavor, balanced taste (that wasn't too salty, sweet, oily, or sour), that's what I loved. I could enjoy authentic "Italian" dishes.
We went here after looking for places to eat that were hard to find for my friend because she’s a vegetarian. It was really cold outside, so the hostess asked if we wanted to sit outside and I did not have my jacket so we said no. We had to wait about five minutes for an inside table, but that was totally fine! I did not mind waiting. As soon as we sat down the waiter asked if we wanted any drinks or anything to get started. We ordered two dirty martinis and the Burratta as an appetizer. The Burrata was just OK by the way. Like 2 to 5 minutes later, he comes back and asked if we’re ready to order the main meals. We say we need just a couple more minutes. When he comes back again it seems like they are in a rush. Basically the waiter said yes it’s a busy night so if you guys can go ahead and order. I have never been rushed like that before at the beginning of dinner. I thought that was a really strange and rude. I ordered the Ragu pasta, which was really good and my friend ordered some spinach cheese ball things which was called a pasta, but she basically said it was just cheese balls with spinach. The martinis came with olives that were not seedless. Normally in a martini they are. Anyway, we wanted another cocktail before we left, but we decided to leave and go to spend our money at a different bar next-door that did not rush us one bit. Even when they brought the food I wanted a before and after picture of before Parmesan versus after Parmesan on my pasta, and the guy with the Parmesan looked at me like he was annoyed. Rude. You would think he would know what I was doing and what I would do with the pictures, reviews, hello !The inside of this restaurant is just OK looking as well. I rated this restaurant so low basically because of the customer service… while the hostess was really nice to get us a table, The rest of the dinner, customer service was just really bad. They kept hovering every 10 minutes to see how quickly we were eating. Never in my life.

Visited for a work dinner with 5 of us. Very small place so make a reservation or be prepared to wait. It's worth it though! Everyone loved their meal. Bread was warm, great crust and flavor, rigatoni with the sausage ragu was delicious. 10/10 would recommend
Pizza is perfect, service is amazing, owner is a maestro - perfectly timing the service and energy.
Make reservations. Lineup is out the door.
Will be back.

Meatballs and caprese starters were tasty. Main course lasagna was very disappointing. Tiramisu was excellent. Sat outside, which was pleasant.

Quite a find in SOMA. Prices very reasonable and service excellent. Pasta was our choice and very good.
The food was soooooo good. I forget to go here then come back and remember. Branzino special was fantastic! And lasagna is as good or better than what I've had in Tuscany. Lost a service star due to error on wine vintage and bill. But both were quickly corrected to satisfaction. Will be back soon!
Was very impressed. Got 2 pizzas and 2 pastas. 1 special and 1 on the list. Also got a bottle wine and a couple spritzes. Overall, enjoyed the food and the ambiance. Pretty loud in there but it was packed. Had an outdoor area as well. I would go back.

We had a great experience in Aug 2025. We are Italians and we were in San Francisco for vacations. Based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor, we have decided to book a table and we have had a wonderful dinner. Italian food very well cooked and with a flavour giving the impression to be in Tuscany. People at Pazzia are very friendly and have given us a marvellous welcome.
Enjoyed our meal completely. Another "I ate too much" but we loved everything from the fresh bread, pasta alle vangole, and the days special pasta and seafood. The service was fantastic. One of our SF getaway highlights.
