Per Diem - Financial District

We sat upstairs and enjoyed the ambience. The food was San Francisco elevated pub fare. All tasty. However, here's a tip for the manager: Don't ask anyone to leave that has run up a $600+ tab. Ever. I don't care who you have coming in.

The reason for the two stars is that Per Diem did not inform me until we arrived that they were only offering a fixed price, limited menu for NYE. It was not posted on their website. We were a group of seven so could not just leave and find another venue on NYE. Per Diem should have either (1) advertised this on their website or (2) contacted all reservations to let them know this was the case.

We had a party of nine on a weekday between Christmas and New Year, so perhaps quieter than usual. But it was a perfect spot: great food, reasonable prices for the area, friendly service.

Given it is the build-up to Thanksgiving, the place was pretty quiet. We got a window seat as requested; but it was cold as the door was right next to us, and was blowing cold wind inside. I ordered the bone marrow with fig jam and toast, the bone marrow was non existent, and but the toast and jam were very good. I requested extra jam, but offered the used almost empty one we had used....? I also requested more toast, and got something completely different. The salad was very good. For my next guest, I ordered the steak frites, the fries were cold and tasted old, the steak was room temperature at best, overall, not a memorable experience. I mentioned this to the waiter to looked after me during my second meeting, and he was sympathetic toward my feedback was going to pass along to the owners.

Went for pint, they had a decent real ale selection. Definitely worth an after work drink. Didn't eat but food looked good

Dante was a star, great, quieter, more relaxed environment. The conversation was very important. Super place.

We had a large party for dinner. We were seated upstairs which was fairly quiet which was nice for conversation. Food choices were all excellent. Service was decent but could have been better. It was hot upstairs and we had to constantly ask for water to be filled. Great food at very decent prices.

Came here for a work dinner. The Wild Mushroom Pasta was ahhhmazing! The staff was attentive and very nice. Definitely recommend!!

It wasn’t too busy early evening on Friday. We had a reservation and table was ready. We were waited on quickly and had drinks promptly. The food came out timely. Our table of 4 each ordered different items and were very happy with the dishes. The server was friendly. Great place to enjoy good dishes with others when you are staying in the financial district.

Food was great, servers were friendly, but everything seemed to take way longer than it should have, almost like they kept forgetting about us. And it took at least 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us when we walked, which was just more awkward than anything. We were in good spirits so it wouldn't keep us from going back, but I'd say maybe avoid if you're particularly hungry.

Delicious homey food a short walk from our hotel in the financial district with good value. The short rib was delicious.

Great food. Nothing fancy just a solid menu with well thought out choices. Crab Arancini were so good. Cocktails were made by someone who knows their craft. Will be back.

Our server pretty much wrote us off when we didn’t order any alcohol. We had to wave him down and/or wait a while.
It was a disappointing experience. Maybe they were understaffed.
