Pesce e Riso Restaurant

Great wine, great food, great service, great ambiance. The ribeye, oysters, tuna, tempura, and gyoza are all outstanding. The owner is on site and will direct you to the perfect wine for your tastes. I really can't stress enough how delicious the food is. We are neighborhood folks and have been regulars since this place first opened (though I do miss the lovely Greek restaurant that was here before, too - chicken bastilla to die for, and now just a memory)

Pesce e Riso is a hidden gem amongst the crowds of North Beach. My friend, who lives in the area said it's one of her go-to restaurants. The premise - an Italian restaurant with a Japanese twist, sounded very interesting to us. We made a resevation for Friday evening and I was surprised that the restaurant never filled up while we were there. I would also say that the food was much more Japanese than I would've expected. We've eaten at Pesce e Riso at least 5-6 times since it has opened, as it's in the neighborhood - and could bit be happier with the food, wine or service. The Amorone is priced very reasonably by the bottle. Oysters and Dungeness crab are tops, but you really can't go wrong.
