Sunny, spacious, and comfortable. A perfect spot to spend a gorgeous October Sunday afternoon. This Philz, across from Chase Center and half a mile from Y Combinator HQ, is full of young dudes in black pullovers and noise-canceling headphones, coding away on their MacBooks. Even on a Sunday. Pretty sure that’s Cursor AI on the screen at the table closest to my cozy armchair.
The coffee is exactly what I expect from Philz. Excellent! The staff is welcoming and friendly. Wi-Fi as strong as the coffee. Plenty of room to work or just hang out.
I used to pass the OG Philz at 24th & Folsom in the heart of the Mission almost every day on the Muni 67. Cracked leather sofas. Wobbly tables. That lived-in look made it feel like it belonged in the neighborhood. I miss it. But this place is objectively better in every measurable way, as long as you can let go of your affection for the funky charm of the original.
I’ll be back next time I’m in the Dogpatch.

They got my name wrong, which made me wait longer than I should have. No apology, just told it was mine even though the name was wrong. I had a fond memory with Philz, which made me visit, but this location was disappointing. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

The LARGEST Philz Coffee that I have seen. Love the whole ambience. Coffee is obviously always good.

I get Philz pretty consistently but yesterday Paulina made one of the best ecstatic's I ever had! Thanks Paulina , I woke up today thinking about how good it was.
The staff here is among the best of all their locations, polite and helpful. This is my preferred location

Well, I thought since it's high-quality coffee that their hot chocolate would be decent. Oh my. But no. Watery. Like I almost could have had a Swiss Miss packet. The one thing in its favor was that it wasn't too sweet. I would have asked for a redo but had to rush back to work.

Not a welcoming environment the barista that made our drinks was really rude and gave us the wrong size
Don’t come here if you need to customize your drink/food (dairy free, gluten free, decaf, etc)

Was visiting a hospital nearby. Ordered hot chocolate and Fresh Chai in rush.
Ambience is good for a store that serves water and calls it by different names. /s
Philz Fresh Chai literally tasted like a chai from indian railways so you know youre getting a great deal here for your bucks. 🫰🏻
We had to add a lot of sugar to chug down some of it. The worst drinks of our life.

I’m giving 5 stars right off the bat for the music. I’m sitting at the cafe with my Iced Mocha Tesora (I like it extra Creamy 😂) and pastries. I’m having a wave of nostalgia, listening to all my favorite New Wave/Modern Rock songs (several Depeche Mode songs, Siouxsie, The Cult, The Cure, etc.). Feels like I’m listening to old Live 105 KITS. 😂 Any place where you can hear Cities in Dust, Never Let Me Down Again, It’s No Good and In Between Days is automatically awesome. The pastries are from STARTER BAKERY, so that’s also a plus. Plenty of tables/seating. Nice place to hangout while waiting for a Warriors game or just any time you are in the area.
