As a SF native who lives near Ocean Beach, we had a few hours before I needed to go to work. We haven't been to Ghirardelli Square in decades although I drive by it all the time. Great that they have validated parking so I said let's wander around there as if we were still dating. We wanted a casual lunch and I support local businesses so we went to Pico Latin Street Food. Placed our order for the tacos and soaked in the view. Our server brought our food and a few minutes later, returned with our drinks. I put my taco down as we're chatting, and my wife noticed what appeared to be a hair. As the server was putting our drinks down, from within the taco I was eating, I pulled out at least a 5" black hair! That was a turn off. The server was apologetic, took the plate back and a new order was prepared. The new order came and it did look better with a bit of different garnish. We finished our meal and at least we had our parking validations. (Normally a restaurant would comp the meal and I insist on paying, but that wasn't an option since we paid up front). So we're heading out and went to take care of the parking. Following the instructions for validation, inserted and the ticked said EXPIRED. Put the second one in and that said EXPIRED. Well, that was it. With two expired parking validation tickets and discovering a long black hair in a taco, what else could go sour? At least we met some nice folks from London and some locals who thought we were tourist.

For a restaurant that's inside of an area that's all about chocolate...the food is decent. I tried the carne asada tacos and the original pupusas, but nothing special. However, the fact that it's located in Ghirardelli Square, it's not bad for when you need something quick to eat, which was my case. The service was absolutely great and everyone was very attentive.

They sell pupusas with cheese in which their cheese option with Loroco is the only option for cheese. This is deifinitely a no no for a Salvadoran like me. In authentic Salvadoran food restaurants that serve Pupusas there are different options. Pupusas with cheese, cheese pulled pork, cheese and Loroco, cheese beans and pulled pork. Etc. I have never been to a restaurant where a cheese Pupusas has the Loroco mixed in and is the only option for a cheese pupusa. Some individuals enjoy the Loroco mixed but I personally do not as I can taste the difference the Loroco gives the cheese. I'm not sure I'll be coming back. Also the pupusa was served with the sasla and curtido on it again this is another big no no. These are supposed to be served on the side so that the customer can self serve to the amount preferred. Definitely not ok.

While the views from this place on Superbowl Sunday were delicious and chilly, this restaurant was anything but delicious. Quinoa bowl lacked flavor and was basically a bunch of red quinoa with greens the garnish was quite sparse. Would not recommend. The side of rice had flavor, refried pintos also bland. With tax etc cost of $50 not worth it.

I love Pico Latin Street Food. Pablo and Mark are gems. Totally hospitable, friendly and helpful. The views are worth a million bucks - I can almost reach out to Alcatraz ! They have outside and inside searing. The food is so so so yummy. I love the bowls and the soup of the day was excellent. This is definitely my go to in Ghiradelli Sq.

Location is great, you can see Alcatraz and the bay. But after paying $75.00 even for San Fransisco you expect the food to be decent. My wife ordered steak tacos and the food was cold, like ice cold, she returned it and they put it in the microwave for way too much time. By the time her food came back the beans and rice were dry and overcooked. I ordered a chicken sandwish and it was good and my son ordered some pupusas wich were ok but they missed the authentic flavor of "street food". This is the first and last time we are coming to this place. If you just want beers its fine, just be warn its gonna be expensive.

Location is STUNNING, large spacious and bright dining space with a great view. Its right in Ghirardelli Square which makes a perfect Spot to snack on tacos. The price was pretty expensive, a beer and two steak tacos for $24. The food took way too long to make. All water, napkins and hot sauce needed to be grabbed by yourself. Staff was alright, seemed tired but probably because it was the afternoon. Food was alright, not much flavor and not authentic. The ingredients weren't traditional street taco but a little more high end vegetables. Didn't have a taste really, rice and beans were alright. Water was good though. While looking through other reviews, seemed like the staff mentioned to improve waiter training and quality check their ingredients around 3-5 months ago doesn't seem like there is much difference. Nice experience to see a beautiful location but probably wouldn't return.

The reason why I am giving this place 3 stars is because I really enjoyed the music they played (reggeaton), the view is great, and the decoration and ambiance was also really nice. However, the drinks we ordered did not taste very good.

Terrible service. Screwed up our entire order. I even politely took my husband's messed up order so they wouldn't have to redo both. The replacement sandwich my husband got took a long time and they simply slapped together untoasted bread and the meat. No cheese, no pepper, no beans. It was literally an f-you sandwich. I'd understand if we were rude, but we weren't. Bummer too, because it's a beautiful location. We won't be coming back.

You're paying for the great view but the food is crap. My popusa wasn't even cooked all the way & my sangria was so watered down it didn't even taste like anything.

Good food but slow service.

First of all my grandchildren are visiting from Washington. We decided to take them to Ghirardelli Square. We took them to Pico Latin street food restaurant to eat. The worst place ever! I ordered chicken tortilla soup and the pupusa plate. The soup was cold, we got our soup after all the other food came. The pupusa was disgusting. It was suppose to be pork, I don't know what it was. It tasted terrible. See picture. I couldn't even eat it. It looked like canned pork mixed with refried beans and had a very sweet taste. The prices were high but that is expected at a large tourist attraction. I would not have minded if the food was good. The cheese nachos cheese was watered down. The Carne Asada Steak was good and the street fries were good. I don't recommend this place to eat. I will never never take anyone there to eat.

Pico sites right on top of Ghiardelli square and overlooks the ocean. It reminds me of a place we saw in Mexico that we climbed many steps to get to. The similar setup with a bar there and windows all around. The patio is am amazing place to dine alfresco. As for the food, we really enjoyed the pupusas. The traditional comes with beans cheese and pork. The pupusa cabbage could have been more acidic. Besides that we enjoyed the pupusas. They have a nice soft texture that we love. These are great for kids because our son loves pancakes. He sees these like savory panckes. We did wish they offered more salsa for it. We also ordered the fish tacos. The fish was cooked right and had good texture. The tacos has a nice slight heat to it and was not too bad. I would probably just get pupusas next time. Overall, I'd pay to dine here for the pupusas and the ambiance. We really all had a good time dining out here and enjoying the weather and good food.
